I want to start drinking wheat grass daily. I am saving up for a good juicer (it will be a LONG while- many other priorities in line), and am wondering if I do use my Vitamix to juice it, how much water and how much grass and then how long will it last in the fridge? I am going to start out with just an ounce or two a day and build from there, but I'm assuming this method can yield much more!
I know there are conflicting thoughts about using a blender to juice, if anyone knows of any affordable wheatgrass machines, please share! I saw a few manual ones on ebay for around $30....are those worth my time? I have a juiceman junior, and honestly, I rarely juice, I prefer smoothies, so I just need something for my wheat grass.
Last question, since my family does green smoothies, can I just throw some wheat grass in the smoothie? or add my ounce or two of juice to the smoothie to disguise the taste?
Any thoughts would be very appreciated!

Freeze the wheatgrass juice in an ice cube tray. Then it will last longer. It's best fresh, but if you're planning to store it, freezing is better than refrigeration.

You can purchase a Wheat Juicer for under 50-, whice cervise until you are able to purchase the one of your choice.
Hi Veg4Life ~ I've been using my BlendTec to juice wheat grass now for a couple of months.
I read somewhere that a tray (approx. 10"x22") yields 12 ounces, so I count a tray as 12 servings (of 1oz each actual wheat grass).
I put about 6 ice cubes and water to the 8-10oz line in the blender and add (not all at once) approximately 1/4 - 1/3 of the cut grass. I blend this a handful at a time - just enough to break it down. Then I add more. I do this until there's 1/4 - 1/3 of the tray's worth of grass in there and then put it through a cycle (I know BT is different in this regard than VM - but maybe 20 seconds?).
Then I strain this mixture through a nut milk (paint strainer) bag.
I do this to the entire tray and then divide this into 12 portions and freeze. I count each portion as 1 ounch of wheat grass even though it weighs more than that because of the added water. I just don't worry about that.
I discovered the ice cubes a couple weeks ago and now I never get warm wheat grass juice from the high speed blending. *Ü*

if dont wanta blend it just chop it up with knife and put in a paint filter bag / nut milk bag and put in water , let soak a bit so grass is getting into water then squeeze the grass inside the bag to ring out the wheat grass juice

I got one of those little hand cranking wheatgrass juicers, but didn't use it much. Then I got a nice electric one. I didn't think that the main feature of the new single and double auger wheatgrass juicers is that they wring or squeeze the juice out of the grass SLOWLY so it doesn't heat or foam. Hmmm. Isn't that also what the hand crank one does? Slowly? Seems that I wasted my money getting the electric one and denied myself of some exercise to my biceps and lymph nodes. Dumb. My moral: Don't be afraid of the cheaper non electric one. And it's light, so you can take it along with you on trips.

do you eat the grass or only drink the juice? I was reading about eating the grass but now I'm confused.
