Hello!
I am wondering if a weekend water fast is beneficial? I'd really like to cleanse my body, and wondering if just water for a few days is ok?

I do a water fast about 3 days a month just to cleanse my body, and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I would suggest drinking purified water before drinking anything out of your sink (because then, you are putting toxins back in your body and it totally defeats the purpose of the fast, IMO)

When I do my water fast, I add 1/2 a freshly squeezed lemon to about 3 glasses of water per day to aid in the cleansing process. (I drink 8 to 10 glasses a day on the days I fast)

Even a 24 hour to 36 hour water fast can be beneficial for you. Not only do I do a 3 dayer per month, but I also do one 24 hour to 36 hour water fast per week as well, and then I aim to also do a 7 to 10 day water fast during each season. It has soooooooooooo many health beneifts! As you can tell, I'm a firm believer in fasting.

One more related question, what should i expect from an all water fast? Will I be tired? Can still run? Elimination?

You might be tired. I was when I first started but after getting quite a lot of elimination out of my body, I'm not as tired as I was. I still make it a rule, though, that when I'm on a 3 day water fast, I don't do any heavy exercise on the 2nd day,but I'll still go for a leisurely walk. If you feel up to running, then do so...but if you start getting tired or lightheaded, then slow down or stop. Awhile back, during one of my 3 day fast, I had so much energy on my 2nd day that I didn't sleep for 36 hours straight. It might do that to you as well. When you get rid of a lot of poisons in your body, you will find new energy and new life within yourself (as I found with me)

Sometimes there is elimination during a 3 day fast for me. Sometimes there isn't, but when I break the fast, then there's definitely elimination. (I NEVER do herbal laxative teas during a fast)

You might experience being tired, headaches, feelings of the flu, etc during your fast but then again, you might experience boundless energy like you've never had before. It really depends on the person in how a fast will affect them.

Good luck!
