Obviously since canned pumpkin is out and you can't cook it - is there anyway to use this or other squash?

You can slice it into Noodles and dehydrate it enough to wither it. You can also blend it in the Vita-Mix and make a Pumpkin Pie.

Oh yeah! Wait until Autumn and the squash/pumpkin recipes will be all over the threads. My fave with pumpkin was a milkshake made with nut milk, dates, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spices. I think sweet potato pie tastes just like pumpkin pie, maybe even better.

Butternut squash and any other winter squash make wonderful soups. Curried Butternut Soup is just one example of a great one. Most decent raw food prep books have seasonal recipes that include winter squash.
It helps to have a high-powered blender to make a smooth soup. However, the first 4 years I was raw, I made do by chopping, then food-processing, and then putting the still-grainy mixture into my regular blender. It takes longer, but it works fine ... and saves those $$$.
They can also be used in other Indian dishes and also Caribbean.
By the way, you needn't use pumpkin to make a pumpkin-flavored dish if the flavoring you have in mind is like pumpkin pie. All you need is pumpkin pie spices. A book just published by Melissa "Mango" Davison includes her Pumpkin Parfait that was such a hit at her Terra Bella Cafe and there is not even a tsp. of pumpkin in it!

This is a great question, and one I was wanting to ask ;)
Our garden has Patty Pan Squash, Butternut Squash, Crookneck Squash, Straight Neck Squash, Zucchini Squash, Israel Zucchini, I think that is all :D
I know what to do with the yellow squash and zucchini, but I'm not sure about the patty pan, and butternut.
I need to find out what to do with them, because we have them coming out our ears

Anyone know what I could do with the patty pan squash?
We have so many we could open up a produce stand and just sell squash and zucchini :D

Butternut Squash Soup
Butternut squash, chopped
2 Garlic Cloves
Cayenne
2-4 cups Water
Optional: Dash Salt
Also have zucchini soup ones if you need.

Patty pan is different than the winter squashes in that they're so full of water rather than all hard, right? So you'll treat them in similar ways to zucchini and other summer squashes ... except for their little flying saucer shapes. Be sure to harvest while small and tender.
Slice, marinate with other veggies, dehydrate a while and eat as stir fry.
Scoop out the flesh, mix with seasonings of your choice and some chopped sunflower seeds or whatever, stuff it back in and eat plain or dehydrate.
Juice along with lots of greens, lemon, and ginger (it actually adds a distinctive flavor that's not unpleasant).
Give away your excess. Share the bounty!!
Be careful planting squashes next year
