Hey all you wheat grass aficionados!
I've been trying to get into the "therapeutic" range of wheat grass juicing, so been doing 4 oz in the morning....
With the warmer weather, and increased use, the juicer is definitely heating up some....
Any strategies?
I was thinking of getting some of those ice pack you keep in the freezer that are flexible for putting on sprains, and draping them on the "nozzle" of the juicer while juicing......or would it be bade for the mettle to have heat from one side and cold from another??
Other ideas?
Have you thought of using your fancy new blender?
I used to grow a ton of wheat grass and would blend it up with a little ice and some water, then strain it with a nut milk bag. Quick and easy, and I felt so invigorated and hydrated afterwards.

That sounds like more work than the juicer....and I wouldn't be able to monitor the dose very precisely.....
It's actually pretty painless in my experience, but no matter what you're right that it is harder to monitor the dosage.

I think you need a New Juicer, one made for juicing Wheat Grass, like the Green Star.

Do half, let it cool down, do the rest.

Hello, can anyone direct me to a store that sells wheatgrass cold press juicer? Thanks, Lisam
I do it exactly as Eva described, using my BlendTec.
I've got a Champion juicer, but I prefer to use the BT.
I can understand not being able to monitor the exact amount though. I go by 12 single shots per 11x22" tray (read that number somewhere...). I am now growing 3 trays at a time. When I'm all done juicing (about 1 gallon of juice including the added water), I simply divide it by 36 - I weigh it all out using a digital scale. I'm a Libra, so everything's got to be balanced - ha!
Yes, it's a bit time consuming - but I've got it down pat and actually find it faster than using the Champion.
I take my empty BT and add 3 ice cubes and then fill to the 10 ounce mark and start adding WG. This will do approximately 1/3 tray. Then I strain through a nut milk bag. The juice stays icy (and I do mean ICY) cold using those 3 ice cubes. *Ü*
