I was under the impression that all almonds grown in the USA had to be pasteurized, but not imported nuts. Don't have a source to quote right now, but I thought that was the case. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Vrindavan ~
Although I am not entirely sure about nuts that are imported into the US, I do know that all of the other statements are false.

sorry, my mistake
two questions should better be like this
in USA
All whole Almonds(with shell, not cracked) are most like RAW ?
All whole Nuts(with shell, not cracked) are most likely RAW ?
If the above are true,
buying nuts with shell has higher chance to get RAW instead of Pasteurised ?
Thanks

They're more likely to be raw if in shells, yes. Not sure about almonds in shells, though.
I do know that if bought directly from the grower they can be raw, even in the US, since the growers are allowed to sell a certain small portion of their crop unpasteurized.
Best to get the ones from Spain if unsure.

Hi Vrindavan ~
because of all of the changing regulations and different practices going on, I highly recommend asking the source that you are getting them from. It really is going to vary from source to source.
