I am located in S Korea, and seaweed is a big thing here. I buy these stacks of flat sheets, and I understand them to be raw (sundried?), as they are more black than green. I pile them on my salads - possibly in excess.

I'd be interested in your views on the health pros or cons of seaweed. Someone once told me that I should not eat too much of it, due to it's tendency to absorp the heavy chemicals present in the sea.

What actually are the nutritive benefits? I guess a high chlorophyll content?

Thanks for your time in reading this message!

Vegetables from the sea = GREAT!!! Lots of minerals, vitamins and anything you can wish for.

When you buy it you have to check the package for clues on how it's been produced. A lot of comercial seaweed, like Nori for sushi rolls, has been toasted. But there are lots of un-toasted seaweed available, and i'm sure you'll be able to find some i S Korea!

Arame, Wakame, Dulse, Kombu... there are soooo many to choose from!
