Help, please! I am craving popcorn like crazy.

Since going raw three months ago, I haven't had any popcorn at all so I am really happy because popcorn always has been my favorite food ever! Now, though, DH and I are going to the Movies alot (airconditioned, of course!) to excape this heat. Anyways, the wafting breeze everyttime someone opens the door bring the scrumptious smell of buttered popcorn to my memory, and now I want some. Maybe a corn chip recipie would work... any recipies that have been tried and true would be so appreciated. I may just havta give in at the theatre and buy some if I don't get a recipie soon. Thanks a million.

SIncerely,
Swid

Hey Lady! ;)

I saw this posted on another raw board a long time ago and always kept it around for future reference:

"I discovered this by accident. Raw nori seaweed (not toasted), with one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil tastes just like popcorn you would get in a movie theatre! I swear! Try it! YUM!!!"

I can't imagine it tasting exactly like movie popcorn or popcorn at all but it just may, especially to the tastebuds of one who hasn't had any in a while!

Someone else on this forum mentioned nori dipped in shoyu sauce too in place of popcorn. Maybe there's something to it! I will try it one day...if YOU try it first, please let us know if it's true!!

I don't go to the movies often, but when hubby gets into date-mode and wants the two of us to catch a flick, I will either eat before I go or take something with me in my purse (I know we're not supposed to but heck...movie snacks are a.) a total RIP OFF and b.) no where NEAR raw or even healthy for that matter!) - but thankfully, the last few times I've gone, I didn't crave any popcorn because it always smelled like they burned it and burnt popcorn is one of the worst smells you can smell!

Hope the nori sheet thing works out for ya!

there was a thread on this not very long ago at all, maybe use the banana to search, because there was lots of good information there.
