Can I bring my VitaMix on a plane?

How would I go about bringing my VitaMix to another state? I am traveling from NJ to FL and will not be able to do without it for an entire month!!!!!

man im not sure, call ahead and check it out? as a carry on i think they will say no due to the blades being a weapon. but if you check it, well....you have seen how bags get handled right?
i would say ship it ahead via UPS or parcel post and insure it. again, not an expert but it seems like this is an expensive test of the airline system!

Of course you can, just be aware that you have to pay for luggage now, depending on the airline. And NO, the blade is NOT a weapon, considering you can once again bring your pocket knives on board, as long as the blade is no longer than 4 inches long. Just don't try to bring toothpaste in a tube that holds more than 3.5 oz. Go figure!

Love it!! How long has that been in effect?! I might have to start bringing my good ole Vita-Mix on planes with me again. haha. I actually just flew to Boston a couple weeks ago and almost checked a bag. But then I decided to spend the extra $15 I saved NOT doing that at a raw restaurant in the suburbs. It was a great choice ... for a 5-day trip.

What GREAT news! Of course, I don't have a pocked knife, but I do have a travel knife + cutting board. I wonder how that would do... hmmmm...

You have the japanese mafia posing as a raw food group with their vitamixes boarding a plane.......then you cut to another scene of some important diplomat who is negotiating with the japanese government over some regulations that will put a huge cramp in some of the mafia's profits.....


So the mafia is in the back rows, diplomat in the first glass. One by one, the mafiosos take their carry on to the bathroom, and detach the vitamix blades.....


once they're all armed, they use the blades as throwing stars and hijack the plane.......

The diplomat is shown with a terror stricken face with one of the blade held at his throat with the mafiosos on either side.....

Vita-Mix used to have a travel bag. I looked it up so I could post a link for you. However, I have found out it has been discontinued. :( Darn! Now I wish I had bought one. They were kind of expensive, so I kept talking myself out of it. That's probably why they have been discontinued.

Come to think of it, my daughter was here a month ago visiting me from Germany to learn all about raw eating. She loved the green smoothies and bought herself a vita-mix. She took it back in her checked luggage without any problems, but I'm sure she could have carried it on in her hand luggage, had she wanted to do so.
