I usually walk outside for my exercise, but I quit a few weeks ago due to "morning" sickness (all day long sickness) and now it is unbearably hot here in Texas! So my sister-in-law just offered tonight to let me borrow her rebounder to try it out. Can anyone point me to a good website or something that will give me a nice general outline of what I need to do to get a decent workout on it? I'd really prefer not to use a DVD, because I get bored with those and I'd much rather listen to music or whatever on my mp3 player.

Thanks!

rebounding is not recommended while pregnant but a very gentle (no feet leaving the mat) bounce should be okay (no guarantees though)...

follow your body and if says enough... be sure to stop.

Why can't you keep walking? I had all day morning sickness, when I was pregnant for about six months straight, but I kept walking a lot - I would just throw up under the tree and walk again. I think, it is much gentler on your body and your joints(which are very sensitive in pregnancy). And my birth was very quick and easy. I would take five births instead of one pregnancy I had.
I really feel for you - it was the most miserable time of my life. Maybe that's why I have just one child.

rebounding is not hard on your joints at all... especially a gentle soft bounce AND you are close to the toilet.

but i would definitely go for some fresh air whenever possible. it is, of course, up to you as to what you need... it's your body, your pregnancy and your choice (((hugs)))

I was a wimp about not walking when I felt terrible - you're right, I could have still done it. But now it is very hot and I'm still a wimp about heat! I can only walk at certain times because I can't leave my children at home alone. But I've sent an e-mail to my midwife asking her opinion on rebounding, and we'll see what she says. Do you have any other ideas for indoor exercise that doesn't involve a DVD or expensive exercise equipment that I don't have? I have so many mp3 files that I want to listen to, and I never have time. And my husband won't go for me spending much money on a piece of equipment that I'm not sure how much I'll use.

you know what i used to do? i would walk in on the spot while watching tv or staring into my fish tanks (we have a lot of them)... that way i'm walking, just not going anywhere LOL

and it's FREE

Yep, yep... I STILL do that on occasion if it's too rainy or nasty outside to walk. If you have a pedometer you can count your steps (and thus mileage) and you can make it as intense or gentle as you want. An aerobic step is also an option. Same principle, just do it freestyle while you watch tv. You can easily make one out of scrap wood if you can't buy one or find one on Freecycle or Craigslist.

I recently read that taking probiotics in the first 3 months will make it easier to loose the baby weight after the birth.
