My name is Judi and I live in Sunny So. Cal. I am so tired of packing around an extra 40 pounds, having hot flashes, being tired all the time. I am so hopping that eating raw will turn my life around. I used to teach 7 step classes a week, now I sit at a desk 10 hours a day. My biggest problem so far in hunger in the afternoon. I get up at 3:15 am to be at work at 5:30. By 2:00 pm I am hungery. I try to work out at 3:30 pm. Any thoughts????

Hi Judi,
I'm totally new too but I would guess that planning ahead and taking things with you that are allowed would help. I'm not 100% sure if it's allowed on this diet but something like dried fruit is easy to carry and snack on.

Welcome Judi. Bring lots of raw foods with you to eat throughout the day Luckily you're in an area with plenty of food available, both produce and prepared raw snacks and meals. Soups and smoothies are great portable and filling meals, wraps with avocado or some type of spread, bars or other snacks are good.

Get Alissa's book and DVD. After reading and watching them you'll know just what to do. She really covers all the in's and out's of raw food.
What a change! Man, desk jobs really do so many of us in! Welp, you can to the right place. Raw foods are so dang energy-building!!!
Just a note -- in the beginning or at some point -- you may find you are MORE tired. It's perfectly normal and part of your body healing and removing toxins. Or you may just start pumping in the office like you're in step class!? Who knows, we're all so different.
Enjoy the journey!!! :)

Hi Judi,
Welcome to RFT and to RAW! :) You can eat as much Fruit and Veggies as you want and not gain but, actually lose. It's the oils/dressings/and fat we put on those that make us fat. You can go to fitday.com and find out exactly what is the calorie/protein/carbs/and fat in every food you eat. It's helped me be aware.

Thanks for all of the input. The more I read, the more excited I get. I have lost 6 pounds so far in 3 weeks and that was about 75% raw. I do feel better, am looking forward to seeing and feeling great results.

Vitex (Chasteberry blend which is an herb from the health food store) and motherwort got rid of hot flashes. When I run out they come back so I know it works. Also be sure to get sunshine on your breaks. I found myself with a vit D deficiencey this year when I spent way more time in front of computer.
