Congrat's - I ordred mine on Sunday and as of last night it hasn't shipped. Of course ordering mine from vitamix and getting the one with the dry blade container - Mine was a few hundred more- Yikes!

The hellaciousness was as follows:

Contacted dude on craigslist selling the 5200 for 325 - but in the suburbs, so I just asked if anyone was coming into the city to work as I could meet them there as an alternative.

As luck would have it - he was coming in that evening to a location near my work. I thought - this is opportunity! But nothing formed from it.

But then - he calls me just as I'm about to leave to go home at 6 ok - he'll be there at 7ish - I say ok. It kind of hurt because DD was at home she is usually out a lot and on a rainy night with no friends around - I was looking forward to spending some time with her.

so I go in the rain to the bank to get the money - then to wallgreens to pick up a few things and an umbrella. Guy in front of me is returning the umbrella because it broke already, so I don't get the umbrella. Proceed in the rain to the meeting spot. I thought I could spend the time reasonably content with the daily soduko and cross words puzzles. I brought the wrong paper - the one I'd already completed. Thankfully - I'm in a lobby so out of the rain, but a bit soggy as the umbrella deal didn't pan out....I sit and stare at the walls, waiting.

Dude texts- traffic is horrendous and he will be 1/2 - 1 hour late. I think ARGH! But I've already invested so much time into so I agree to wait. I think again about my DD and kind of wishing I'd just gone home....

Thankfully - not to late, he shows. Whooppee - it is mint - never used at all. We make the exchange I had 300 in 20's, another 20 4 singles and some change - he rejects the change, bringing the price to 324.

Boy - it's a big box and not too light. I've got 2 buses and a train - and 2 large bags already to carry........1/3 way home the carrying strap on the vitamix rips through the dampened cardboard. So I'm lugging around my 2 large bags and this huge awkward box through the public transit in the rain. I was totally soaked when I got home, and ended up with a pinched nerve in the back of my one shoulders that is still twanging today.

But I've got a Vitamix - and my integrity is still intact!

For those still waiting for their own vitamix.......

I've been checking craigslist periodically, maybe like once a week - every other week, I would have been checking DAILY if I'd known such a deal could pop up!

I just got lucky. Another vitamix was listed at 375. I popped on craigslist to see when my ad went up - but it's gone already. The one at 375 is now listed at 355.

Palatine illinois - if any are nearby and interested.

So vitamix wannabes - keep checking the craigslist!

Somebody else will have an unwanted wedding gift they want to unload in a hurry for cash!
