Hi, I'm from West Sussex here in the UK. I'm turning to raw because my body needs a radical overhaul - i've just been diagnosed with diabetes type II and after years taking medication for depression, I am seriously obese. I was heading for a gastric bypass or gastric band, but became worried about stories of vitamin deficiencies afterwards and hairloss (my hair's already thinned out due to side-effects of medication).

I don't really know where to start - although I've just recently cut out processed foods. I guess I have a long way to go!!

I really hope you'll stay around! There is much information to be found about raw foods on the internet.

If you can afford it, going to a raw retreat for a couple of weeks will help you learn the basics of raw foods, and make you more comfortable applying it in your life.

You are welcome to message me, if you want to talk. :)

Thanks so much for all your replies. I'm really excited to be doing this. I've just had a large green salad with vittoria tomatoes and basil drizzled with oil - delish! I don't know anything about how to combine foods so I finished off with a banana as I was still peckish.

Thanks for the advice posted.

God bless, :)

Get Alissa's book and dvd. You can order them on her website together. After watching and reading you'll know exactly what you need to do. Good luck.
