Am I still vegan?

Well, one of the many pleasures of preparing raw foods is the skilled use of extremely sharp knives.

I was cutting and preparing veggies, and having a marvelous time
when I happend to look at the food I was chopping and notices some blood.

Knowing that I was not killing any thing in my kithchen, I looked for said source of said blood.

IT was my finger, hummmmmmmmmm.

and there was a big chunk gone.

Now, I am so used to cutting myself, that I didn't even notice it.

I know, I know, how could I NOT feel it?

Well, my finger did hurt, but I was cutting up some frozen mushrooms, and they were cold, my finger was cold, it was probably numb, and I was cutting down hard to cut up these frozen things (they only grow in our yard for a few weeks-- so we pick and freeze them to keep them) and that it probably why I didn't feel it much.

Anyway, now Dragggon wants to know if I am still a raw vegan? because I stuck my finger in my mouth (a perfectly natural thing to do when one cuts themselves)

what do YOU think?

I think it's funny,

I was just happy it was food for only me and Dragggon, as I wouldn't want to have a bio-hazard on my serving table.

OMG ouch!! :eek: You poor thing. Please be careful! I chop like a maniac, with very sharp knives as well. After a few near-tragic slips of the knife, I will not chop when I am tired. Not at all. Hubby has a very dangerous and stupid habit of reaching for veggies slices *WHILE* I am chopping away!!

And yes, I'd have to say you are still vegan, for the very scientific reasons stated above. LMAO! Did you need stitches? What finger is it? Did you find the chunk? *shivers* :rolleyes:

I probably needed stitches, but I would never go to a hospital or any such place, so I just wrapped it up in a towel for a while, then had to come on here and type this all out, OUCH type type ouch type ouch.

Anyway, it is my pointer finger on my right hand, OF COURSE, the one I use the most.LOL

and We did find the chunk, not terrribly bad, about 1/2 " by 1/8" or so,
actually got it a couple of times, before I noticed the blood, that it how it was a chunk Not just a single slice.

So, no bandgabes, no more bleeding for now, found the chunk, tossed it, hurts like the dickens, but I'm fine, but mostly only when I type. LOL

So, expect lots of spelling errors, of course with me behind the wheel/or typewriter/or I suppose it's actually keyboard, YOU KNOW you'll get spelling errors and mis punctuation, and typos etc. anyway, even when all of my apendages are working properly. LOL

Now, I must have been having a Purple Haze moment, because I thought this thread said Am I still a virgin, and then my instant response was, how would we know, don't you.

So, whether or not you are still a virgin -oops, I mean a vegan, well, let me just say as a veteran cutter of my fingers, I can feel your pain, and I am glad you are okay. Back in the day, the old people would have wrapped it in fat to keep the posions out - you wouldn't happen to have any would you?

Ive debated this in my mind as well ...... yes you are still vegan ,cuz vegan means PURPOSELY not taking advantage of any living creature - imagine how many accidental bugs we eat - gulp- thats hard to swallow :p!!!!
