sound abatement for the vitamix

so I called the vitamixers - asked about getting the sound abatement with the 5200.


Person was weirdly rudish - "i have no idea what that means" - I told her it came with the professional models, she remained clueless that I was talking about the vitamix professionals......

I know you can get it with the professional models - but I was hoping to not spend a thousand on this! LOL!

I though the person on the line was not so professional - I was talking about something your company does sell - you can at least pretend to be willing to investigate....

Anyone ever get one of these things?

As for the sound, I have had a VM 4500 & 3600. (One I sold when I moved overseas, the other died after THIRTY years.) I have the 5200 now. It is noticeably quieter than the other two models. It's still a blender!!! But I just wanted to share that in case it's helpful info. :)

she may have been new & still in training.. call centers do that... she could have been freaking out & all kinda stuff. lol when i've worked at call centers & got nervous, i've had "brain farts"! lol she may just have been having an off day.. who knows. call back enough times & i'm sure you'll get someone who knows what that is. :D and i can almost guarantee that any time something like this happens to a representative, they get embarrassed and look the information up, so they know it in the future! so you just did a good thing by calling & asking about that product! :) now that rep will be able to do her job better because of the experience you gave her. :) hope you were nice! :D

LOL! very nice, but I am sure she is looking nothing up, she was extremely irritated and rude and I'm sure she doesn't think she needs to "learn" anything....

Put me off the whole company, to be honest........that montel juicer looks better and better, lol!!! Montel seems very nice and friendly!


Maybe I will try the Barb Eva mentions.....

I decided to call Barb! It's a sound box that restricts the airflow, so they actually don't recommend using it! Vita-Mix does not sell them or make them. Outside restaurant supply stores put them with a Vita-Mix. So that's why the person didn't know what you were talking about.

And seriously, giddy-up on the $325 deal. I still feel like mine was a bargain at $399 (free shipping) because the thing is so dang fantastic. I'm glad that didn't make you totally poo-poo Vita-Mix. I'm totally hooked for life on them! (By the way -- when I was in Hungary and couldn't have my VM, I blew out a blender twice just to make simple stuff that would have taken no time in the VM...)

I also have another issue - I accidentally let my car insurance lapse.....paid on line yesterday - still no reinstatement of coverage....so unless that gets resolved - won't be able to run out to get receipt of it.....giving them time to sell to someone more convenient.
