DD was watching the infomercial for this. I came in and said - why are watching this when I'm doing the exact same thing in the kitchen....
She said because this one is "awesome!"
I asked if they said the horsepower - she said 2 - same as the vitamix....
Only 200 dollars....
What do you all think? Any see or try?
Comparisons to the vitamix?? I was just about to buy one - wonder if this is pretty close ----
Any info with the RFT crowd?

I bought it last week and get it thursday. I upgraded to 1200 watts for a little extra.
People who have VM and such say wait. Well I been drinking not so smoothies for to long! And 400.00 for a VM just can't happen so I went for it. I will update Thursday night after I blend dinner and try the make ice cream deal!!
So yea. Not a Vm but my HM and I'm excited!!!!!
Ps part of the reason I bought it was of the 4 east payments. That I can do!

Very informative, Anastazia!
Thank you so much for posting that!
Guess I will have to go for the gold standard as I am a bonafide smoothie addict now!
Best of luck with yours, Jehote! Do keep us updated, as it could be a great option for so many if it is good enough and lasts!

that other thread link was reff: before so a few days before I ordered I called myself. Parts ARE available in a few weeks and will be available for order. I wouldn't have ordered otherwise. That thread is wrong. Call and check yourself is your best bet I figured!!!

T-Bird, please please please let us know how this thing works. I bought the Jack LaLanne "Healthmaster" and it made great smoothies but it broke down on me in less than a year. They replaced it with a brand new one and that one only lasted a few months.:( I called them and told them not to send me another replacement - send my money back - which they did. The reason I think it may be the same machine is because the lady on the infomercial with Montel is the same lady who does the informercials with Jack LaLanne. Montel's model looks somewhat different but I am wondering if it is the same machine repackaged. I wish you luck anyway and I really want to know how it works for you. I think I am going to try to save up for the Vitamix!

I wonder if the container is BPA free. Vitamix definately says theirs is - it doesn't say if the Health master is?

I wish Jehote and anyone else who gets the Healthmaster the best of luck! I really do - because I know it's difficult to lay out all those bucks for the Vitamix. I guess I was just one of the unlucky ones with the Healthmaster. Smoothies were delicious but long term didn't work for me. Vitamix also offers a payment plan. I think you have to pay half the money up front and then they break the remainder down into payments. So I am working on the down payment!

Regarding the Healthmaster, I would advise against its purchase. I too wanted a Vita Mix and purchased this inferior model based on its comparability and the lower cost. In addition Montel himself initially backed the Vita Mix brand and because of its inaccessability to so many in desparate need to improve their health wanted to resolve that by providing a lower cost model which purportedly had the same ability. I currently have the digital model which I purchased about a month and a half ago. It was great, managing all the tasks it advertised with the smoothness of a purchased product however, it stopped working two weeks ago. I got up to make myself a breakfast smoothie consisting of rice milk, almond butter, bananas, and mango (its still sitting in my fridge in the blending container since the day it broke two weeks ago while I waited for the return label I was to receive which to date has still not arrived) and it wouldn't power on. There was no warning, I used it two days before with no problems, it just didn't come on. I cut off the power in the house just in case it was a problem with an outlet, that wasn't the problem. I switched to different outlets and of course that wasn't the problem. It didn't even make it 30 days let alone the 60 day money back guarantee that came with it. As you can imagine I am quite upset especially since I gave my sister the Cuisinart model I owned thinking that I purchased a better hight performing machine. I called to report the problem and was told I would have to have a return label sent to me which takes 5-10 days to receive, I haven't gotten it yet and now will call again to request this since I am also told that I cannot get a replacement until the defective unit is returned. Upon receipt of the returned unit I would then have to wait up to an additional 14 days to receive a replacement unit. In addition a refund will not be issued until they receive the damaged unit all the while my credit card is continuing to be charged. As soon as this is resolved I'm getting a Vita Mix. I guess the red flag should have come up when I read about the fabulous lifetime (100 year) warranty being offered with the product. Anything that comes with such an unrealistic warranty should be avoided at all costs, it's likely too good to be true! So to the guy who just received his and is all excited, be wary but if it works out I'd like to know that someone had a better experience than mine. Best wishes.

Oh crap! I ordered and received Montel's Healthmaster before I found this forum and knew anything about the Vita Mix. I hope mine dies fast or last forever! I did pay extra and got the more powerful model with the extended warranty. Works great now but have only had it for a week or so.

I have the Vit-Mix and love it, but I don't get really smooth smoothies. Mine always have a little bit of grit taste in it. I had decided that was normal since it looked like it was a smooth smoothie, but reading this post about how many people really are getting smooth no-grit smoothies is making me wonder about mine.
I use a milk bag and grit is gone, but that kind of takes away from the reason for having a Vita-Mix. I need to check about mine.

You didn't mention which model VitaMix you have, but assuming its a 4500, 5000 or 5200, you may just need new blades. One nice thing about VitaMix containers is that the containers are modular- you can buy just the container or just the blade set or just the retention thingy on the bottom. I know with Blendtec, if something goes wrong, you have to replace the entire container. Also, make sure you're using the wet blade/container, not the dry ones used for grinding grains.
The modern VitaMix's are also designed with fail safes- if it gets too hot, it automatically shuts down & won't restart for a certain length of time (15-20 minutes, I think?). And even if you're stupid enough to grab a wooden handled spatula instead of using the plastic tamper, and then accidentally let go of the wooden handled spatula the whole thing doesn't blow up or anything. Instead, the drive socket that connects the motor to the container fails, which is a $10-15 part you can replace yourself...and you can guess how I know this

I posted this in another thread but for those who may not have seen it...
My Montel Health Master died after only having it about 4-5 weeks. A week or so ago the LED readout stopped working and today the entire thing is dead. I called and told them I want my $$ back.
Is Vita Mix the best there is? I've never seen one but will go to the state fair in about a week to see a live demo.
Just made my normal shake in a pretty powerful blender but it came out a little stringy compared to the Health Master.
Edited to add: Looks like I've only had mine for a few weeks, not 4 or 5.

Please be aware before you order!! We ordered the Health Master Blender after watching Montel. After ordering (and this is a My-I Bad as I should have investigated IMMEDIATELY!) I started doing a little more research on the blender. After much reading of BOTH affirmative and scathingly bad reviews of the product, I decided to cancel WAY before the three day cancellation period that I was told of on the phone. As a matter of fact, it was well before the 24hr period. Once I called, I found out that they could not cancel because it had been logged into the computer. I had to wait for the 7-10 days for the product to be shipped and then I was to refuse it and it would be sent back and they would refund my purchase price but (SURPRISE!!) they would have to charge me the $50 shipping fee!! Uh!! I cancelled....Hello!!!! Well, they claim that it was already in processing and I had a tracking number, so therefore, it was already on its way to me. I called UPS and they have no record of either the product or the shipping number. They claim that it is not in their possession until the tracking number is logged into their computer. When I called it had not been logged and they did not have it. Called back to Montel's number and they still can't and WON'T help. They still say they want $50 for nothing and if I don't pay they will give it over to collections!!!! Are you kidding me? What kind of a scam do we have going here? I try to call a number where I can get some help and SURPIRSE!! there is no number anywhere. No one can help me, no supervisor will call back and I am expected to accept this lying down? I don't think so!! Is Montel aware of the scam that is going on? Is he allowing his name to be used in this manner?? When I called back for the fourth time, I got yet another customer service rep who couldn't help in any way and in the background there were three different operators all telling the same story "I'm sorry we can't cancel your order. YOu have to decline the package and pay us the shipping fee". Does this sound legit or not?? And all the problems associated with the product is another point of concern. No service after delivery?? What is the warranty for? Anyone else have a problem with this product or the service? I'd like to hear about it. I'd love to hear from Montel, but I think perhaps he is not aware of the probems that he is personally creating for his adoring public!

I got a refund for the purchase price only, no refund on the shipping, the express shipping fee or extended warranty. I got screwed and tried to find a way to e-mail Montel or his people. I only bought it because he endorsed it, he should know it is crap.

I was using the large vitamix container with the same results, ie. gritty smoothies. I switched to the small 32 oz container and voila! SMOOTH SMOOTHIES! Perhaps there was just too much stuff in the larger container, not sure, but now I'm ecstatic after these 8 months!

I was going to actually buy one of these for the office because so many people are impressed with the way I got rid of my diabetes and lost so much weight. (although my glucose is still perfect, I've gotten away from a good raw live diet) So I thought a blender in the office would help me keep a better routine while opening up other's eyes to the possibility of satifying health. I thought the Healthmaster was the one.... I wonder, if Montel does NOT know of these problems, maybe he has enough influence to get this product / business better... (maybe not)
I was just about to purchase one of these when I came upon this forum.
Would those who have had trouble please send calls/emails to Montel's people to see if there's something they can do?
Thank you all for the great info!!!
I'm glad that your blender came so quickly and that smoothie sure sounds good.
I'm still on the look out for a good product. I keep hearing Vitamix and some people swear by Blendtec.
But it's the $$$
At one point I did some review searching on the Health Master. I kinda turned off it. The main complain seemed to be that it didn't hold up under the pressure of a lot of use. The problems seemed to revolved around the coupling (cracking), seizing up and the jar not holding up. I gues the main problem was replacement parts.
But then again, for every bad review there was a good review. Hmmmm....
Can you keep us up dated on this? The blender I use now is really on it's last legs (there is a small crack in the coupling and this causes leaking). But it's an old blender that I only paid about $125 for. (I think I killed it when I used to use it to crush ice for my Margueritas when I was still drinking... lol...)
Anyhow I look forward to your 'blender saga'. It sure would be wonderful to know you can get a decent machine at a decent price.
;);)

Vitamix Wins, hands down.
It will last you decades (literally)...
Would you rather spend $200 for a Blender that MIGHT last you a year??
Or save for a couple months longer and spend $400 for a Blender (VITAMIX) with a PROVEN TRACK-RECORD of lasting DECADES (30-40 years in some cases)....?

It has needed a new part twice, but the part was inexpensive and easy to get from the company.

they call it the "creations" but when I visited the VitaMix website, it appears to be the same as the 5200, the 1st one on there. Anyone know? It costs $449 on the website.

I have so far not heard even one good reviews for the Montel Williams Healthmaster. I had the Healthmaster when Jack LaLanne was selling it. I ordered it - worked fine for a while - then broke. They sent a replacement and it broke down after only a few months. Told them no thanks on another replacement. I think the one that Montel sells is the same machine revamped because the lady that hosts the show with him is the same person that hosted the Healthmaster infomercial with Jack LaLanne and I don't even see his Healthmaster infomercial playing anymore.
I bought a blender that was working ok (just to use while I save for the Vitamix). Then the blender broke. So now I am using my Magic Bullet, which is OK as a temporary replacement but the cups are too small for the size smoothies I like. I refuse to buy another blender or anything else. I will suffer through with the Magic Bullet until I have saved for my Vitamix.

Question - I am saving to buy my very first Vitamix. Does anyone have any recommendations for which one I should buy? I love my smoothies but I also want to be able to make raw soups, etc. I have seen models 4500 and up on E-bay. I only see 5200 model on the Vitamix website.
Also, has anyone bought a Vitamix on QVC, HSN or Ebay? I'm asking because I'm concerned that if I buy the machine from any source other than Vitamix and something goes wrong with the machine then I am stuck.
Thanks.

Vitamix is far better...have mine for 20 years, not one problem...
I bought the Montel Blender . after 2 weeks the motor burned out. I only made friut juices, did not grind cement..lol..
Called for replacement motor..they charge $ 30 for shipping, ok I paid that.
It is now over 6 month later. Still no motor. when I call the company I am told that they are out of motors, waiting for shipment. FROM CHINA.
I tried to get a direct mailing address for Montel. Well insulated,no contact information anywhere.
ALL listen up...
The blender cup is made out of cheap plastic from China.
When the foods/grains get pulverised the particles scrape the plastic walls of the cup. BPA is getting into your food. BPA causes CANCER.
"'''Our Stolen Future''''' website has tons of information on the dangers of BPA.
Mr. Montel....I would love to have a conversation with you about this blender you push on the public...Heathy ???...only for YOUR bank account...

Was given one of these earlier in the year and maybe used it 7-8 times
Motor burnt out and unit would not go. Overload or whatever was NOT effective
Called customer servise and they would ship another base for$29
Said that it could not be shipped to a PO Box It was to be shipped by fedex
to the physicsl address for fedex to deliver
The type of service fedex used requires USPS to deliver the final stage
USPS do not deliver to the physical addresses where I live ( I have a PO Box no)
USPS returned
Spoke to customer service and they said that their system would not accept PO Box and they could not arrange for fedex to deliver
THey could not help but credit postage. Was my bad luck if I could not find a friend they would not help
I hade to have it shipped to a friend 500 miles away and have them Fedex it to me
This is bad customer service
Dont deal with these guys
Unit is not too godd
Go with vitamix
I have one at a different address and it is great

I ordered 2 Healthmaster blenders from Montel's group and have had nothing but problems with the container leaking within a month or two. They were replaced twice already, but the problem still continues. Now they want me to pay shipping for another container but no one will address fixing the problem at the manufacturers end. Replacements took 6 months to get as they claimed they were back ordered from China. I asked that they break a new box to send a replacement the first time as 6 months is a bit long to wait for a replacement.
I recommend that you save for a Vitamix. Mine has lasted 16 years and when I had to replace the blade recently, the customer support was so gracious and helpful. They had the part sent in 3 days. They even offered to walk me thru installment when it arrived. The extra money spent on a Vitamix is worth it. I use my blender every day and work with animal cancer patients/clients daily teaching how to make & prepare live foods with the blenders. Montel's group said that daily use of their blenders will definitely cause wear so that leaks occur in 2 mos. Well, if one is to follow Montel's advice to eat healthy and use his blenders in making our meals, I wouldn't think that we should only use them once in awhile. His particular blender was used by me once a day at home and it could not last but 2 mos. The second time it lasted 3 mos. The third time was 5 mos and that was because I was using the Vitamix more since I was not very confident that the Healthmaster would last very long with just once a day use. My Vitamix is used 3 to 6 times a day at work and sometimes more often. It is still going strong with only one blade replacement and that was because I left a spoon in the blender and proceeded to grind it...so that was entirely MY fault.

I bought the MW Health Master, but before I used it for the first time (it is still unused) I started reading reviews that it leaks after only a short time, and then there are customer service problems. Then I found out about Vitamix. I decided to purchase several of the older model 3600 that are stainless steel. I might even find other people who are interested in them, but I am new to raw foods and smoothies, and considering his own health problems, I am disappointed that Montel Williams would put his name on such a piece of junk.
