Hello all my new friends :)
I'm Jena, 30 year old mom of three kids under age 5. I came upon my transition into raw foods purely by accident. Over the past year I have had chronic back pain, seemingly without reason, headaches, trouble remembering things, 20 extra pounds, and worst of all digestion problems. As in I would have painful stomach issues any time I would eat fast food, meat or dairy. A friend of my picked up a book at a garage sale about raw food living, and after seeing her great success with it, I thought I would give it a try. It has been a little over 2 weeks and my detox symptoms have finally subsided. I'm not 100% raw/live, as I occasionally eat fish or chicken when I make it for my family. But that is usually once or twice a week. I have come to love my juicer over the past weeks, and start every day with a glass full of something green (usually lemon, ginger, kale, celery and alfalfa sprouts). Though it's only been 2 weeks, I am so loving this way of life! My back pain has completely disappeared and I have had any stomach issues since week 1. hurray! I found Alyssa's blog in my google research on all things Raw, and this has been the most informative site out there! Anyway, this is long enough, so I'll finish by saying that I can't wait to learn more and start reaping the benefits of raw eating!
