A problem with dehydrating...

Our home is a ranch style house.

I started my first batch of onion bread in the dehydrator last night and the SMELL kept me up all night (hubby too- and even the baby didn't sleep well)! :eek:

I remember in the past that baking bread in my bread machine did the same thing.

I believe our sense of smell intensifies greatly while we are sleeping and it's really irritating to try to sleep through the odor.

Anyone else have this problem?!

I guess we could put the dehydrator in the gameroom (basement) at night.....

I like the smell so it does not bother me but I guess that you will have to move it.

You can also put it in the Garage or outdoors if weather permits.

I keep mine in the basement. No way could I do it in the main living area.

I know someone that had a similiar problem, (only with roasting coffee). He does it in the laundry room where he put in a ceiling exhaust fan.
