i'll probably be at some jewish festival. i don't even know when summer solstice is.. but i am jewish... so... >_> and i mean jewish as a religion.. not as my ethnicity. lol even though i may have some of that as well. i don't know for sure. http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/patriotcz/buttery-i_have_no_idea.jpg anyway, why does it matter? i am hawt. http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/patriotcz/buttery-the_devil.jpg
.... i got a little side tracked.. sorry. lol what's summer solstice about? is it fun?... do you have a big shindig with food and dancing and whatnot? if so, i may be interested, because i like those kind of shindigs. http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/patriotcz/the-blacy-victory-1.png (and yes, i really do talk like that)

How cool you're going!!! I was going to go, but decided not to... I have a friend who will be there, though. Have you been before? Oh, I bet it's WONDERFUL!!!
My friend Akal Sahai has been to many solstices, and he assured me there's plenty of raw food... even cold watermelon!

you said the magic word.. watermelon.... where is this event?... i would climb the walls of the grand canyon without a rope if it had a watermelon on top waiting for me... http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/patriotcz/buttery-greeding.jpg (don't any of you be getting any ideas...)

I'm most envious of you. I can't make this one, but plan on going next year, as well as doing teacher's training in NYC.

Yes... a bit envious, mahself ;) Oh, you're just going to have a blast! So many cool things about it... and yes, I've heard that they are totally equipped for you to do your own food prep... i've heard that you can sign up for kitchen as your seva and that helps, too.

Awww both of you are too sweet thanks for psyching me up about it. I am looking fwd to doing teacher training too. I went to Gurudhan's class at Yoga West this morning it was awesome. We worked on balancing time energy with space energy.
Do you girls think I should take some food or do you think there is sufficient food their to live off for 2 weeks. Also what type of stuff would you suggest taking ?

If it were MEEEEEE, I would probably take some stuff... Just 'cos I'm like that, haha.
My biggest concern is greens, especially when traveling. I mean, you can bring trail mix-y stuff, no worries... but I know that I feel best when I get lots of greens - especially doing that much yoga (3 days tantric, drool!!!)... alkalize, alkalize, alkalize! But how to do that, when you're not guaranteed refrigeration?
I actually thought this through when I was thinking about going to Solstice, and I would suggest either -
Chlorella tablets http://www.therawfoodworld.com/product_info.php?products_id=1001898
or YogaBody
http://www.yogabodynaturals.com/
I know YogaBody looks really gimmicky... but the guy is actually mostly raw and I got the supplements a few months ago... as someone who was doing 31mins/day of BoundLotus, believe me, I could tell when I got more flexible!! It's also a really convenient way to take greens and make sure you're mineralized. I recommend, definitely!
