I found another fasting site today, and now I so confused and frustrated
There's a guy on there called the Fast Doctor, who runs a fasting (Kuegar) clinic in South Africa
He claims juice fasting isn't really fasting. Fair enough
Then he does on to say that anything with taste stimulates the taste buds and shouldn't be used at all
This is the end of my second day of water fasting, 3 rd day total because I started with a 1 day of juice. I've been using a algae powder for cleansing, 1 ts 3 X a day, drinking perrier with lime juice and drinking tea with stevia
And I was so proud of myself. So apparently this is wrong and not true fasting?
I've read such great things about juice fasting. Granted water is a deeper cleanse, but I thought juice fasting was very beneficial for detox and weight loss
The other thing he said is enemas and colonics are no good
I've got 4 colonics booked this week to concide with my fast. So I'm wasting my money?
This is day 3 of what was to be a 10 day fast, part juice, part water. Am I getting wound up over nothing?

I did water fasting before and it was very harsh on my body(and soul). Right now I am on my first juice fast day 5 and I feel great, I can still take care of my child, not be irritable and, most importantly, enjoy life. I might try some water fasting days in between mainly because I am getting sick of washing my juicer 3 times a day, but if I feel harsh detox, I will go back to juice.
Does it matter if fasting is real or not? Do you want results and feel good or do you want to be right? I prefer slower detox and feeling good while on it much more. But you might feel good on "real" fast too-everyone is different. Also, who cares about day count - I will go untill it feels good. I don't mind feeling challenged-that feels good to me. But not feeling awful.
Totally ridiculous. The word "fast" has more than one definition and one of them just means to abstain from something.
People fast from sex, from chocolate, from meat, from solid food, from all food.
He could say "The only true way to abstain from all food is to abstain from all food" and be perfectly right. But he can't say the only fast out there is a water fast.
Was it helpful? Did you give your digestive system a break? And more importantly, who cares what he says? He is NOT a divine definition maker. ;) Just another guy that calls himself an expert and spouts off at the mouth. Doesn't mean he doesn't have some useful info. But let's be real!

lol.. to tell you guys the truth... i never heard of a juice fast or a water fast or any of those other kinds of fasts until the past couple of years, because i had been taught that "fasting" meant abstaining from all food and all liquid, INCLUDING water. i did that kind of a fast before... didn't have anything to eat or drink for 5 days & nights..
i didn't learn about 'juice fasting' until after that... and i had no idea that you could 'fast' sex and television and meat and all that other stuff... lol my first contact with a different kind of fasting was in late 2007.. when i worked at this call center that handled phone calls for 200+ ministries on television.. one of those guys was doing a daniel fast or something like that... where people called in and made a pledge to just eat vegetables and fruits for whatever amount of time.. and that was considered "fasting"... i laughed my head off at that... i was like "they're fasting?... but they're eating!!! how is that fasting?" lol then i found something about juice fasting in 2008... and i still don't know exactly what that is, other than you drink juice... i don't even know what kind of juice you're supposed to drink... all those kinds of "fasting" are foreign to me, because as i said, i was taught that when you fast, you don't partake of ANYTHING...
so i guess it depends on what you consider fasting. since i've discovered all these different kinds of "fasts" i don't really know what to think. i guess do whatever you want, because you're not really going without anything anyway! eat drink & be merry!... or don't... either way, you're fasting!

Hi everyone
I hear yah, it shouldn't matter what he thinks, and it doesn't;)
Today was day 4 and still on water. I had a colonic in the AM, then went to the gym and did the eliptical trainer for 30 minutes, then sat in the Infra Red sauna, which was nice
Then later I took a nap and woke up and went, I don't want to do this anymore
I don't know if it was too much exercise or I just needed to get some nutrition into me
I made some rubarb/granny smith apple juice and now I'm drinking home made ginger tea and I feel fine
My goal was 10 days, and now I wonder if I'll make it
Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow morning
The thing that's weird with this fast is I have so much energy, it's driving me nuts. All I want to do is be outside and bike, hike etc. It's frustrating because I want to do so much, but the fast is limiting me
One thing for sure, I've now switched to juice so maybe it won't be bad if I want to exercise
Thanks for thoughts everyone

Personally, I'd skip the colonics. I think they do more harm than good. Animals will fast when they don't feel good, but I've never seen one have a colonic. It just ain't natural:D:D:D

You can do enemas at home. It works too. I didn't have any headaches on my juice fast(day 7 today) because I am using them. Otherwise, headaches are a given to me on fast.
