Bask in the joy.
Eat what you please.
Take it one day at a time.
Listen to your body and your own intuition.
And by all means don't sweat the small stuff.

It actually is a diet, just not how the word has come to be used over the last few years or so.
What we eat IS our diet!
Many moons ago I use to have a pet supply business and one thing I sold was bird feed labeled as "parakeet diet", "cockatiel diet", etc. Women would come up to me and tell me they didn't want their birds to lose weight.
So, the word has changed in the minds of many.
As far as a lifestyle goes... to me, it's a PART of an overall healthy and healing lifestyle ~ but not the be all, end all.

I can respect that Revvell and I honor your experience which is true for you.
For me, it's a lifestyle. Which is true for me.
Primary focus of the thread is to motivate and take the energy off being perfect and focusing solely on the dietary aspect of this journey. But rather embracing the deeper aspects...which can vary for us all. It is beautiful all the way around and we all can learn from one another's individual experience.

Just the food itself is a lifestyle? Or part of your overall lifestyle? I know you and I know there's more to your lifestyle than just the food ~ or, the diet (meaning, just the food ~ not as a weight loss program ~ which many are using it as which brings them to a fuller, richer, lifestyle).
One thing I've experienced is that, eating raw and living foods definitely enhances the rest of my life(style). :D

Sure raw food is more to me than what I simply put into my mouth. I'm more healthy, I exercise, I love myself (and this is new, you can believe me). I just feel good. Raw food alone is a start, but it's not everything. After changing what's in your plate, you begin to change the things you don't like in your life, and that feels good! The real detox for me was as much physical than spiritual. *
Thank you for the inspiring post RawHeaven!

Oh my goodness Revvell, I didn't want to disect this. It was meant to be a simple communication. Big smile. It depends on your own viewpoint. Ahhhhh....if I have to elaborate I would say yes, yes and yes to your questions. I really think this is a subjective point and it would be very difficult to quantify it and try to sell it or have everyone absorb it as their own truth or gospel. That's just not going to be the case...it's a personal thing and based on individual life experience. I think the lovely people who feel it in this thread, resonate with it too. Not everyone will.
For me, raw = a lifestyle that encompasses my entire being. The food aspect is just one component (of the lifestyle). I feel a supreme connection to my spirituality for example (which we're not supposed to talk about on here :p) consuming raw foods. It goes beyond food...which I still say is solely a dietary aspect. I do get your point. I do, I do! I just am looking at it differently.
Hope that makes sense. Perhaps at some other point in my life I will be able to expand on this more eloquently.
In the meantime...
Let's keep it simple. Love you! Mwah.

Simple....isn't this what brings most to this lifestyle? It was a major reason for me along with more energy.

For me, raw foods are....food. It's what I eat. I would personally feel silly claiming that the way I choose to eat is my "lifestyle." I am so much more than what I'm eating, and I wear many hats. For example, I'm a poet, so I could say that writing is my lifestyle, because the act of and love for writing affects every area of my life, including my emotional, psychological and spiritual realities. When I don't write, I feel less good--or downright bad. But, I wouldn't want to be so pretentious as to suggest that being literary-minded and passionate about poetry and its place in the universe is a lifestyle.
It all goes into the mix of who I am and how I live.

Perhaps considering RAW a lifestyle boils down to what your life revolves around.... for me, my life revolves around helping others (many friends have gone RAW after me and achieved wonderful results), being happy and healthy (my body is in top shape and my mind is working best on RAW) and living my life to the fullest (which I can do as long as I am in good health!)
So for me, RAW = Lifestyle :)
I've also learned to be conscientious about Creation + Humanity, in general, through my investment in my personal health, wellness, and wholeness.
I consider the things I do each day to be an extension of where I am at on my journey - so in that way, RAW is a part of the Whole Picture, as well as "the picture" itself.
