Not the chocolate kind lol, the mushroom, reproductive organs of mycelium (fungus) kind. I purchased a whole pound! :D scored a sweeeet deal on ebay!
I frequent Pure Food and Wine and can't figure out the prepartion they use!! Truffles are definitely one of my favorite foods, and since i won't purchase (too expensive to be reasonable) the winter variety i am more than thrilled with the current ones :).
They always serve them with oil and/or carpaccio style, it's not olive, i assume a mild flavored oil, a truffle oil, or some other less-than-raw oil. I can never get it as perfect as they do! :(
