I had been experiencing a number headaches lately. I went to the eye doctor to see if my prescription had changed. It did, but much to my surprise it was reduced ... drastically. He was shocked and double checked everything. My astigmatism went away as well. I had heard that people eating raw got better eye sight and now I can say I have proof. I'm hoping that next year I won't need them at all!!:D

My eye exam is next week and I can't wait. My prescription no longer works for me. I haven't gotten headaches (knock on wood).

I'm having such a time seeing clearly - ofcourse I'm hoping that it's improved not degraded. I'll see next month. *Ü*

Yep i currently do not wear glasses or contacts at work anymore, my prescription has drastically reduced too. I just use them for driving or watching tv, but i get massive headaches as it's so straining on my eyes now. :) Hurray ( i only wish i started sooner, having had glasses for 16 years... wow

This happened to me as well in the past. I was doing raw for a few months, and my prescription decreased. Not by much it was like by .25-.50 (which isn't hugely much when my prescription was still -3.25, i.e. very near-sighted). But I thought this was still pretty cool. The optometrist wasn't terribly shocked or anything, but did take note of it.

I don't wear glasses but better long distance vision was one of the first things I noticed when I first went raw. I was SO impressed!

I looked at my corneas and they seemed so much clearer than they used to be, I'm certain this is at least partially responsible.

That's amazing! Just imagine what eating raw has done for the rest of your body, as well! Bravo!

I keep reading about these benefits and being of slightly impaired eyesight, not enough to be warrant glasses according to my eye doctor in the past, but not perfect, I hope that continuing this diet will give me that elusive 20/20.

That's wonderful that your eyesight improved. Mine didn't at my last appointment BUT my astigmatism is better.

Presbyopia: During middle age, usually beginning in the 40s, people experience blurred vision at near points, such as when reading, sewing or working at the computer. There's no getting around it — this happens to everyone at some point in life, even those who have never had a vision problem before.

Haha, I am 54 and I do not need glasses to read. I write and do research for a living. I am looking through books and on the computer all day, so my eyes are very busy, plus I read a lot for pleasure as well.

You just have to love concepts like, "It happens to everyone" or "there is nothing you can do about it." When I'm around my friends and people are looking for their glasses to share something they read or asking someone else to read it because they have their contacts in and can't see near, I just say, "hey, give it to me, I'll read it." LOL

This is really great news. I have worn glasses for 45 years now and I can't wait to start cutting back my prescription.

Haven't really noticed a difference yet, but it will come.

rawlight my prescription has been increased at every visit since I was 40. My eye doctor told me not to worry about it since it happens to everyone when they hit 'that age'. I can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do a fair amount of green smoothies. I try to alternate my greens, Kale, Spinach and Chard. I pair them with cucumbers and mango if I am using mild greens. For stronger tasting greens I usually use banana and berries.

I also like carrots and beets either juiced or shredded.

Other staples are avocados, almonds and mixed green salads.
