View Full Version : couple of questions about juice fasting

I found this forum last January while doing a 5 day juice fast. Lots of great information
Today I started what I hope will be a 10 day juice fast. Last time the 5 day one went great, and this time I'm hoping to do a bit longer
I have a couple of questions. Has anyone made fresh juice sorbet while juice fasting? Is it acceptable?
Is fresh coconut milk ok?
I'm trying to be a bit more creative this time around. Last time I juiced mostly vegetables
I'm also planning to do a bit of exercise - running a bit while fasting. I've read mixed reviews on whether I should or not

do i freeze my juice and eat it with a spoon while it melts... heck ya!
yes fresh coconut milk is okay
when we use our energy for exercise that takes energy away from healing. so if healing is your focus... keep your exercise to a minimum. if weight release is your focus... then go ahead and jog!

I have an ice cream maker I was going to use to make a slushy kind of coconut/pineapple eat with a spoon thing:) It's so hot up here in the Yukon right now, so I think this is going to work great
I think with this fast weight loss if very high up, so I'm going to exercise a bit, 30 minutes of jogging every other day
I'm toying with adding in a couple of days of water fasting:eek: I've never done that. I'll wait till I get past the 4 day detox hump though

Actually I find it easier to start a fast off with water fasting and then move into juice... (but that's my experience and body)... doing just water shuts down the hunger sooooooo much faster. I loooove that. Gets me into the 'zone' quicker as well.

You know Aleesha, that makes perfect sense:D
I think my body is already directing me to do that. I only had two small glasses of veggie juice today, and the second one I didn't finish
I imagine the juice will taste like ambrosia after just water
Maybe I'll do two days of water then switch to juice on Friday for a week
I'm finding that I really don't want veggie juice. I want fruit juice. I've always avoided fruit juice because it was high glycemic. The last time I did a juice fast I juiced watermelon, including the rind, cantelope, and papaya. They were all to die for
Thanks for the tip. I will do just water starting tomorrow

For now, I definately find water fasting easier than doing juice. I have no veggies to buy and no jucier to clean
I've had two teaspoons of spirilina/cholera/wheatgrass powder today, as well as 3 glasses of water with crushed fresh mint, lime and stevia
Is this still considered a water fast then?
