Has anyone here cured ptsd by going raw? I have someone who has ptsd pretty severely and would love to know if raw can help her..

I would consider looking into EFT - Emotional freedom techniques. Google it to find out more, and check out youtube for it, bc it's hard to explain.

All i know is that it has worked very well when i've used it, and i know people with ptsd have been healed/helped

Peace

Just my opinion....

I'm thinking that raw might help a person benefit from whatever support he or she was receiving for PTSD, but I do not think raw food lifestyle alone would be enough to heal from past trauma.

peace.

My son has PTSD-and raw did not help. He is starting EMDR this week and I have heard it compared to a miracle-so I will keep you posted. It is my understanding that PTSD occurs when the body traps traumatic memories in the short term memory and fails to move them into the long term memory bank. Therefore, the body "relives" the trauma as if it happened a week ago. Using EMDR one can move the memories into the proper memory bank-and therefore be freed of the stress. You can even store memories from one's preverbal stages. Even if the person doesn't REMEMBER the trauma, their BODY does. This is the case with my son. He had lots of medical interventions in the first year of his life, and 5 surgeries before his 5th birthday. So he will be using EMDR even tho he personally doesn't remember the situations.

check out thejourney.com

A good friend of mine is getting certified as a coach in this process and it has created miracles in people's lives. I read her book and find it truly fascinating.

I've been dealing with PTSD for almost 3yrs. I started 90% raw a few months ago & it's an amazing difference!! I feel 'awake' now, sleep better, cry much less. I'm still sad but now, I feel like I have 'some brain cells' & I've noticed I smile more which I had to make myself do b4, I feel more relaxed. I used to wake up with my hands clinched together, this has decreased. Still can't tell you what I did yesterday, but I'm in the present today.

HI there,

I agree that EMDR is an excellent choice especially for the acute stages and would also recommend acupuncture.

Following up with whole foods, EFT, and meditation.

imho, meditation being the most significant as it actually creates true insight and long term establishing of relationship to self that is rooted in self-awareness.

best!

As a psych professional I always advocate seeking professional help but eating raw and taking good care of yourself in every other way by doing things like meditating, reading&educating yourself on the disorder etc. is equally important for healing and recovery.
All the best to you!
