Wanted to share this with all my rawber homies here at RFT!
I invited my brother and his gf over to sample the family fav green smoothie - spinach, pineapple, and banana! Yum!
Even the gf like it - and she is very vegetable adverse! bro took mental notes on the production aspect, so I think I have spread GS fever to another household!:D
I made a lasagna for dinner - it just came over me - I had plenty of spinach - mushroom, and zucchini, so looking at that and thinking what to make - what else? lol! Of course I have the macadamia nuts on hand too. It was just to use up all that spinach and zuchs which were from last weeks shopping.....I was thinking it was just for me, and would last me 2-3 meals - I just did a tiny one that used less than 1/2 of the zuch. It's like a 4x6 inch pan.
While on a bathroom trip - I got wind the kids were hungry, they wanted to pool their money and order chinese takeout - but the place closed early Sundays, and they were too late. And my sauce had turned out fabulous this time - last time I only ate it cuz I couldn't bare to waste all those ingredients, LOL. Since I had tidied up for the bro&gf visit, I decided to set the table, I made a special little portion of the lasagna without spin and mush for DD, and regular for DS - who loves both - and just called them down to "sample" it. DD at least ate the zuchini noodles out of hers, I'm sure some cheese and sauce attached for the savory factor. DS had 2 large portions:eek:
If I had been able to pop this into a dehydrator for an hour or two - it certainly would have been restaurant worthy. I need to write down the sauce recipe before I forget. I impressed myself!
Now - there were no rave reviews like for my cooked regular version, but the forks went into the faces multiple times. DS accepted a raw entree I prepared as a meal! DD at least had more than one bite.
I was so excited, even though I had spring cleaned the majority of the downstairs, and was exhausted with aching knees, I managed to clean up and do all the dishes, and lay down finally to think about my victories.....but was so tired I fell asleep at once.
Still having warm fuzzies about it this morning!
