Hi everyone, I think it's time to start another thread, get some new fasting blood in here. I know everytime I start a new thread it inspires others to fast so come... let's do this!!!

I'm doing a Green Smoothie Feast. I started this morning with a lovely blend of:

mixed organic baby greens
3 over ripe bananas
blueberries
2 stalks of celery
chia seeds (soaked)
hemp oil
lime juice and pulp (1/4 of a lime)
water

the dogs loooooved their portion!

this made enough for my smoothie now and another after I get home from yoga. I'll do adding in juices of course... don't know how long I'll do this feast for... but I'm in for today anyway!

Every one of my days starts with a green smoothie. They are soooooo good. Later either more GS or "soup" (warmed savory GS), or my day just falls apart and I have crap.:D Luckily, there is always tomorrow.

...green smoothies until (hopefully) Thursday or Friday.

My morning and lunch smoothie was:

baby spinach
banana
frozen berries
frozen mango
flax oil
chlorella

Probably the same for dinner because I have so much of it :) I have to remember to drink my water, I think I've only one glass today so far

Have a great day everyone!

I've been strongly considering doing a green smoothie fast myself. It's one I think I could do easily. How much do you drink a day, if I may ask?

My new favorite:

2 oranges
2 bananas
big bunch of parsley
big handful of wheatgrass

Incredibly energizing and refreshing!

leah, remember... water isn't AS vital when you are doing so many green smoothies... cause there's lot of fluid in them. BUT that said... if you want to release weight or live in a hot climate... more water is better (((hugs))) *wink hi darling!*

tearose, as much as you want to!!! i've had two litres so far and am off to make myself another. i've also done 2 hours of yoga, cleaned the house AND got some things off in the post that i've been procrastinating about F-O-R-E-V-E-R...

mmmm smoothie!!!

Thanks, Aleesha, you have inspired me! I'm starting tomorrow, just green smoothies for me! (having birthday dinner w/my fiance tonight!). I've been thinking of doing the master cleanse, but I'm thinking later in the summer for that. This will be much easier and fun!

*waves" Hi Aleesha!!!!

I've been feeling thirsty so I do think that I need to keep my water up, especially since it's been warmer around here lately.

It's day two of smoothies for me. I also went to the gym yesterday :)

I was so excited yesterday, I found a farm stand on my home from work that has fresh, local, organic baby spinach! So, now I can just stop there every few days to stock up for my smoothies. Yay!!

I'll check in later.

Green smoothie! Just finished reading Ann Wigmore's book "Why Suffer", which is a free download on Dr. Jim Carey's website. I MUST grow some wheatgrass and add the juice to my diet every day. Can't wait to start, but next week I have to go to California for eye surgery, and the week after that I'm off to Germany for 3 weeks. Yipee! Happy fasting to all.:)

so are you going to fast before your surgery? sounds like an excellent idea to me

Hi Aleesha,

When I read your opening post after seeing the title of your thread, I did a double take. How could the smoothie you described possibly be included in fasting? Then I realized that I was just holding on to a narrow view of fasting: that is, subsisting solely on water or juices. I have generally considered fasting a "no-go" for me because I have a high metabolizing, wiry body type that just cannot sustain the weight and energy loss in traditional fasting.

I could though go for days on smoothies, and so this kind of fast I could do. Thanks for the new perspective.

By the way, I took a quick click through your website and I think what you have accomplished is totally awesome. Two big thumbs up from me.

I'm feeling a little wimpy right now. I'm only 7 hours into my day, and I'm just starving! Dreaming about food(although I'm pleasantly surprised I'm dreaming about healthy food). But, leaving work now to go home and make my second quart of green smoothie today. That should calm things down.

Still very impressed with those of you able to do this for long periods of time. My goal is to make it to Friday! :o

Aleesha, I'm sticking to mostly green smoothies until next Tuesday (and after), with as much green as possible. It's eye surgery and I don't know how much fasting would help, but green smoothies most certainly won't hurt. Once I get back from Germany I will definitely start growing lots of wheat grass. In the meantime I will harvest some of the excellent grass on my property. BTW, do you think I could blend grass and water in the vitamix and then strain it? My daughter's juicer does not work for wheat grass, but she has a vitamix. I thought it might work, as long as I cut the grass into small pieces so it doesn't wrap itself around the blade. What do you think?

Thanks Aleesha!!! Great post. Now I don't have to do my own "research". Nothing but rain and sunshine EVER touches my yard, so all my grasses are organic.:D

Thanks, Aleesha! I went home and made a nice, light, watery smoothie, then brought another more substantial one to work(2nd job). I couldn't even finish that one, I was so full! I had been dreaming of eating food when I came home, but didn't really want any.

Today's going well!
