View Full Version : Just Call Me Gassy!

I'm finding that I've been gassy all day after eating almost nothing but fruit and vegetables. For breakfast, I had an apple and a sandwich made with Ezekiel bread and cucumbers. I had a cup of tea hoping it would settle my stomach some. It did somewhat. Then for lunch I had a raw salad with dressing. Could the gas be because my body is not used to this? Please tell me this is only temporary!

Yeah, it's pretty common when first starting raw. It'll pass.

Whew, thanks Rawkinlocs. I was getting worried there for a minute. One good thing about it, though, it keeps me from eating too much. ;)

I also forgot to add that sometimes...well, oftentimes, gas is a product of fermentation and this occurs most times due to the way food is combined. But don't get too overly concerned about all the food combining rules this early on...just keep on keeping on and eventually, all that will come to you.

Watch your food combining. It really helps with gassiness. Also, ginger tea works miracles with gas. I drink it often.

perhaps you could eat fruit only first, and then give yourself some time to digest it, before you eat the vegies?

I've been having the same problems lately, but I haven't been combining food intelligently either. Thanks for asking the question, and for the helpful responses.

Yes, it'll pass, then pass, then pass, then pass. LOL
It happens to me too. I had 3 bananas and then it passed at the library. Why always at the library and waiting in lines at the grocery store, video store, I'd like to know?

That's the way nature planned it. Gives one a personal space w/out having to ask. :D

Eating bread gives you gas, how much bread are you eating ?

Well, I've been eating fruit first thing in the morning on an empty stomach which my body definitely isn't used to. I'm having the same grumbly stomach feelings today but it's a bit better.

besides eating fruit in the morning, before the vegies, you could also try eating only one type of fruit at a time. Also, perhaps you could eat your first meal not the first thing in the morning, but a bit later, when you get really hungry. Apparently, very early in the morning, body is still digesting stuff from yesterday.
Glad that you feel better.

For some reason, I can combine like crazy now and have no problems -- no gas, no bloating. I do have some suspicions as to what things may be causing this, but I'm not positive yet on all of them.
One thing I can say for sure is that rejuvelac (of all things) is one reason. It is, at least in part, creating a better environment in my stomach (or so I'm reasoning).

question: if u ate a fruit smoothie in the morning then combined greens, celery, etc. w/ it, then would that = more gas?
