Greetings. I just saw a commercial from Montel Williams who is selling a new blender called HealthMaster. Has the same capabilties like a vitamix and is computerized like a Blendtac. I love my vitamix and would not live without it esp since it has a long warrenty but i was wondering if anyone has heard about this new blender. It is suppose to cost around 300. Peace

There are Mixed reviews on it. Apparently its the same as Jack Lalane used to push although they could have improved on it now.
You already have the Cadillac in the Vita-Mix.

I have the one that Jack LaLanne pushed, and I love it! I have also been watching those infomercials with the new Healthmaster blender and all the fun things it blends. :)
The base is different than mine is, since mine isn't computerized. But the pitcher is almost the same, the blade is the same, it's not much different but the price.
I paid $129 for mine 2 years ago. Montel wants $200 for his.
Last I heard, Jack LaLanne is still selling his. I saw a recent infomercial where he was touting it along with his wife.
I just don't see how they can both be called the Health Master unless Montel bought the rights to it or something.
When or if my Jack LaLanne Healthmaster ever dies, I want to get a Blendtec. :)

consider a slow rpm juicer rather than high speed blender... they yield you an excellent quality juice plus you can use them for processing jobs (pasta, nut butter etc...) plus quiet and 'humane' operation

I really need a good strong! Blender so seeing this I went to amazon and this thing got baaaaaaaaad reviews. Some went back after a good review and said the canisters fall apart. I was hoping for the money it would have worked ......

Just keep saving for that Vita-Mix. It has a 7year Warrenty and after that they will STILL advise you. I've heard they are Cheaper at Costco. I'd go there and do a little "Window Shopping"........Hey pull out the old C.C. and help the Economy:eek:.

I can't do a vitamix right now. It's totally a money thing and will be for some time. I did call the number on this and they will have replacement canisters etc and parts in the next 3-4 weeks. If I do easy pay I can do it. *sigh* I just want good food. I just want something to help me over all. You know?

I had bought Jack LaLanne's Healthmaster (which he calls the Healthmaster 100). It worked for close to a year then it broke down. They sent a replacement, which only lasted a few months. I called them and got a refund - didn't want another replacement. I have seen the new infomercial with Montel and what makes me think it is the same machine, maybe upgraded or something, is that the lady doing the infomercial with Montel is the same lady who does the infomercial with Jack LaLanne. Also, if you pay close attention to Montel's infomercial you will see that the little books that you get with Jack LaLanne's products are the same as the ones that come with Montel's machine. Since my first time seeing the infomercial with Montel for the Healthmaster, I have not seen the infomercial with Jack LaLanne for the Healthmaster 100. I'm just saying.

i have had a vitamix for close to ten years. with no problems. case closed!!!:D
I've had my Vita-Mix for 30 years and it still runs like new! If you bought a car that could last that long you would call it a Rolls Royce. That's what my Vita-Mix is, the Rolls Royce of blenders. My on/off switch did go out during those 30 years and for $1.87 I bought a new one and replaced it myself. LOVE IT!!!

I have never used a "HealthMaster" but from my research I can tell that the "HealthMaster" is made in China, while the extremely reliable Vita-Mix is made over in the USA. I'd take a Vita-Mix any day.
Best of luck.

What? how is it more humane to get a juicer vs a blender? how is juicer better than a mix? from what i understand, it's like comparing apples with oranges... seeds are good... Juice is good.

I've been using my Jack LaLanne Healthmaster for 2 years now, several times a week. I have had no problems at all. I wash it out immediately after using it, drain upside down, am gentle with it. I hope it lasts a few more years. And when it breaks, I will be buying the Blendtec. I only got the one I have because my husband is a cheapie.
Now I just heard that the Jack LaLanne Healthmaster is discontinued, and Montel bought the rights to it, changed it a little and is selling it for more money.
I have also seen the infomericals which leave me a little mesmerized seeing him put in whole carrots and celery that my current blender cannot handle. But I won't buy that one. I just like seeing all the goodies get blended up. :D
I still think the Healthmaster whether Jack LaLanne or Montel Williams is hawking it, is still a good beginner blender for green smoothies. For those on a budget, try it. If you clean it out and drain it upside down(the carafe) right away, it will last a long time. If you leave water in it or other gunk and wait to clean it, the blades will start to rust according to some. It takes me a minute to clean it all up with a nice sprayer on my sink. Treat it nice and it will treat you nice with delicious and nutritious green smoothies, raw soups and other raw goodies. :)

Ambug,
I agree that the Healthmaster 100 was a good "beginner blender." While it worked it was great. My problem was that while the 1st one lasted almost a year, the replacement only lasted a few months. I was extremely gentle with my machine. I was really dissappointed when it stopped working because I really can't afford to get the Vitamix yet and I wouldn't accept another replacement from them. I went and bought a cheapie Black and Decker blender from Target while I am trying to save for the Vitamix. Montel's Healthmaster does look a little different than Jack LaLanne's but I definitely think it is from the same company because the recipe booklet that comes with it is the same as the one that comes with Jack LaLanne's. Also the lady who does the infomercial with Montel is the same lady who does infomercials with Jack LaLanne. Hopefully they have improved it. I hope so for the sake of those who buy it.

i bought healthmaster, seems to work fine for 2 weeks now.i went online after watching a infomercial that was showing different blades than the ones i had.the blades online and that montel was using had sharp edges and points,my blender had thick squared off blades and no fine edges, which i thought strange when i first got the blender but it was working ok.
i called and they left me on hold and disconnected me when they couldnt answer why they show these nice blades and gave me the ones they did.finally reached a nioce woman who checked and said it was for commercial purtposes to show thoses blades.im really confused abouit it now,i have a hamilton beach blender which iloved and did a great job and it has sharp bladed edge blades.
help,u cant trust anyone today
how can they show one thing and sell another?

The Vita-Mix is the ROLLS ROYCE of Blenders/Juicers/Smoothie-Margarita Makers/Ice Crushers/Soup Makers/Baby Food Makers/etc. I bought my first one out of the classifieds for only $50!! The guy selling it, bought the so called "fancy blender" for his wife who only used it twice. I found my second one in a box of junk & traded a $10 rug for it (we keep that one in the RV). Calling the VITA-MIX a blender is like calling the Grand Canyon a little tiny valley. MY ADVICE BUY THE VITA-MIX!! It has lasted me over 30 years with no problems what so ever!! I have lost 50 lbs.(& have kept it off!), tripled my energy, and have drastically improved my families health! I have heard the Heath-Master breaks down after a few months. If my house or RV was on fire and it came down to saving my wife or our VITA-MIX.....I would...mmmmmm save my wife just as long as she was carrying the VITA-MIX! If she wasn't, well her SINGLE twin sister loves the VITA-MIX as much as I do! BUY THE VITA-MIX, it is a little pricey but so is "QUALITY"...it's made in the USA verses the CHINA made HeathMaster!
It's the CADDILAC the ROLLS ROYCE of these kitchen appliances!! I know things are tight & everyone once to save a buck so shop around especially the clasiffieds and maybe you'll spot a slightly used VITA-MIX! BUT MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION & GET A VITA-MIX!! I won't comment on the Healthmaster, as I don't have one. But I have a Vitamix and am sold on the machine and, just as importantly, the company. They always are helpful and professional. The company seems to have ethics (a real rarity anymore). The price is a bit high BUT, people swear by them. If you think you are saving money by buying something for $200 and it breaks in a year, what do you do then? Buy another one for $200? By then you could have bought the Vitamix! Also, check with the Vitamix company. I believe they may also offer an "easy pay" plan. It seems I didn't pay all at once when I bought mine, but that's been a while back. I think you will be very happy with it and with your decision to support this manufacturer.

I bought a Montel Healthmaster after seeing it on TV, I had not heard of the Vita Mix till a few weeks after I got my Healthmaster. Fortunately my Healthmaster died after only 5 weeks (two smootihes a day), supposedly the company is sending me a refund. I bought a Vita Mix last week and just love it - no comparison! Now I just hope I get my $$ back from the Healthmaster people.

Health Master: First Jack Lallaine pushed it, now Montel Williams. They changed the HOST so it appears to be a brand new machine/blender! It's junk! It's cheaper then a VITA-MIX and might last a year but it's cheap junk from CHINA. The VITA-MIX is the ROLLS ROYCE that in the long run will save you time, money and aggravation. I own TWO VITA-MIXES. One for the house and one for our RV! I've had them for over 20 years with NO PROBLEMS! Why do you think, Health Spas, BARS & Juice bars use them. It's like the Dollar Stores...you think you are getting a great deal because it's cheaper until it breaks. Do yourself a favor and check the classified section of your paper, Tradin Post, or Wheeler Dealer (or what ever name they use for your FOR SALE papers in your town) search for a USED Vita-Mix...I bought TWO over 6 months for less than $70!!! (Yes, Seventy Dollars!) Be ready with your money and be the early bird that gets the worm!! I have tripled my energy, lost 50 lbs. and have kept it off....and my entire family is HOOKED on juicing!! It's MAGIC! It's AMAZING!

To all who want to get a bargain, look in your newspapers and on craigslist and other places for a used one. I got my Vitamix 3600 in San Diego, CA for $20.00 in 1990. When people pass away or go to a nursing home, their families have no idea what "crazy aunt merna" who did all this health food stuff has. I saw many in the "bargain Box" section of the Sunday paper before I was able to be the first caller. The Vitamix is a wonderful machine and you don't have to pay full price. You may need to buy new seals and spring closers for the lid (thye come together), but you can do that at the vitamix website and they are very inexpensive. I also ordered the Vitamix recipe bookm from there. Mine has the stainless steel container, not as cool as watching everything spin, but sturdier than the new clear container. You can also knead bread with it.
I also use mine to make a great clay masque out of plain clay kitty litter. If you look at the ingrediants, it's clay. Just whir it up in the Vitamix to a fine powder and put a bit in the palm of your hand and mix as needed with water. Put it on your face and let dry....amazing. Store the dry powder in a plastic container. If you want to get the spa feeling, put a drop of orange or mint essential oil in your palm too.
Happy mixing!

I'm a believer in Vita-Mix as well. I have the 2 hp Vita-Mix, but am going to upgrade to the Vita-Prep Pro 3 hp model, which they tried to talk me out of!!! It only has a one yr warranty because it's made for bars, nursing homes etc - for commercial use.
I'm actually selling my 2 hp model 5000 Vita-Mix to an Amish health-nut....LOL. Her dh is going to hook it up to a gasoline engine. Funny huh?
I just find that I WAIL on it and at least once or twice a month, it overheats and shuts off. This in no way hurts it, you wait about 5 - 10 min and it'll cool down.......I just want the 3 hp.
I STILL would get a 3 hp Vita-Mix over the Blendtec because of one stupid little reason....The plunger. If you look at vids on YouTube etc, whenever someone uses the Blendtec, they shut it off to stir up something thick, then turn it back on ....you don't have to do this with the Vita-Mix. You just keep it running.
I did get the Magic Bullet for travelling, and for my kids. It works okay, but doesn't PULVERIZE the greens in a smoothie or in juice as much. It's more like a toy compared to the Vita-Mix, but again, good for travelling and for my kids.
HTH, I'd save up to get one.

I was at our County Fair last week and watched the demonstration. I ordered a reconditioned one from them and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. The reconditioned one was $70.00 cheaper than a new one ($359 vs. $429 - no shipping, but tax - of course!:(). It came with the same freebies as the new one (several books, 2 dvds, 4 cutting boards, 2 spatulas) as well as an extra year on the warranty (8-year warranty) just like the new one. I figured I might as well save myself the $70.00. I actually have the Jack Lalanne Healthmaster too, and I'm anxious to put them to the side-by-side test. I will take the Healthmaster to my daughter's for when I'm visiting. I also have the Magic Bullet, which I've taken on trips. It's great on cruises - they usually have a great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables to whip into smoothies.

I bought the Health Master blender (http://www.3blenders.com/HealthMaster.html) because some customers made me aware of it. I have to agree that it is not the best blender. Perhaps the only good feature it offers is the 4-times payment plan without interest. Besides that, the stainless steel parts are of the lowest grade and are already rusting by the time you are unpacking it.
don't put it into the dishwasher, the blade will rust. etc.... we can talk bad all the long.
In my opinion, the better Raw Food blenders are all those that have at least a 2 hp motor blending torque. That could mean that the blender has a 3 hp motor but it yields in 2 hp torque-speed-revolutions, or whatever that really means.
Best Wishes

You will find with the Healthmaster versus the Vitamix that the Healthmaster just cannot pulverize celery the way Vitamix probably does.
After so many testimonials and a lot of thought, when I upgrade my old Jack LaLanne healthmaster blender, I will be buying the Vitamix instead of the Blendtec. I liked the idea of a square container, versus round that food is harder to get out of.
Costco has the Vitamix blenders on sale at times with good demonstrations at the same time. I really want something i can put in whole carrots, celery and other "tough" veggies and make some great drinkable juices out of it. The way I do it now, I juice the tougher veggies in the juicer, pour it in the blender, then blend with other things like lettuce, berries, etc. It would be nice to just do it all in one.

Sorry I forgot to give you an update. I received my VitaMix a few months back and I absolutely love it....use it everyday. I did do a few "side-by-side" tests between the VitaMix and the Healthmaster, and, of course, the VitaMix wins every time! (in smoothness of smoothies). But, I was not displeased with my Healthmaster and since it's still working, I'm taking it to my daughter's so I can have smoothies when I'm visiting her. But I am glad I made the decision to splurge on the VitaMix. Yes, I'm sorry that I didn't get the VitaMix in the first place, but, if I had, then I wouldn't have the Healthmaster to take to my daughter's! See - everything happens for a reason! I just wish I had gotten the VitaMix years ago, as I am 61 and it will probably outlive me!!! One thing to keep in mind for both the VitaMix and the Healthmaster (as well as any other blenders)....wash and dry it thoroughly right away. I then lay the pitcher on it's side for a few hours so absolutely no water can get into either the top or the bottom of the blade mechanism. Maybe that's why my Healthmaster has lasted so long for me.:D

Thanks Thomas,
Sorry to bug you, but I'm looking at the Vita Prep Pro 3 hp one. I currently have the 5000 and it overheats once or twice a month because I wail on it!
I want the best one for the $$$ that must have a tamper. I always watch those YouTube vids where the Blendtec users have to shut it off to stir up their goods.
What's your recommendation?
Can I buy something through you and support you in some way?
Thanks,

Don’t waste your money. Words cannot express my dissatisfaction with the equipment I purchased and I am even more disappointed with the customer services provided. I purchased the Blender in August of 2009. I receive it about a week later. January 2010 the motor stopped working. While bending vegetables the motor started smoking and I immediately turned the unit off and unplugged it and emptied the contents. Waited several hours and tried to use the unit again it would not work. I used my unit a total of 15 times since I received it in August. I paid extra for all the bells and whistles only to be disappointed after using it a few times. Talking to Customer services was very frustrating and my only option is to return it at my expense and send 30 dollars with the broken unit so that a new unit can be sent back to me. If I had it to do all over I would buy a very good commercial grade blender from a store that would honor my return with no cost. I trusted Montel and this product and I was let down. I rarely buy thing off TV or the Net but my faith in Montel proved to be the wrong decision.

I purchased one in September 2009, which I used twice per day at the end of September it caught fire, the safety switch did not trip out it never worked since. (It was being used for blending oatmeal, fruits and yogurt). I returned it and their customer service was extreamly poor. I purchased another from QVC in mid October and I have experienced the same faith. In my opinion they are safety hazard, it does not do the job and their customer services is very poor. Sick to your $45.00 dollard blender. Any knows how to reach Montel Williams, so he can be informed that he is endorsing a product that is causing people to get mentally sick?

After watching the infomercial I must say I was impressed by what they claimed the unit can do. I anxiously waited for the delivery and as it was just before christmas I was very excited about opening the box. Set up and ease of use was great. I did some internet searching and found a few notes on quality of the bearing on the bottom of the health master container. Still so far so good. I am now at day 28 and am happy to know they have a 60 day moneyback gyuarantee that I am going to be exerscising. When making my smoothie this am I had an odd noise followed by a discharge of Brown Lubricant from the bearing letting go. So much for that. Time to pack it up, ship it back and accept my loss of Shipping and handling. Lets see how well they stand behind the refund policy! So many good reviews on other machines. Dissapointing that this one failed in less than 30 days.
Since buying my Blendtec in November, I have used it every single day, sometimes two or three times a day, and I've gotten to the point that I don't know what I would do without it now.
I would recommend either Blendtec or VitaMix. Don't settle for anything less. It will become your next best friend.

I've watched that Healthmaster infomercial a million times. I debated and debated and almost bought it. I really needed a good blender for my journey and just didn't have the money to put towards a Vita Mix. I found way to many negative reports on the Healthmaster. Many folks loved it, but it burned out so fast and the customer service appeared to be consistently awful. I found one person, on a non-food forum that told me she loved hers and that it had been over a year and it was still holding up. However, she didn't use it as many times a day as I knew I would be.
Then there were the Ninja infomercials that pulled me in. I found out that they sold them in Target and considered buying one from them so that returning (if need be) wouldn't be a hassle. THANKFULLY the opportunity was presented to me that allowed me to purchase a Vita Mix. I can't tell anyone NOT to buy either of them (the Healthmaster or Ninja), because quite honestly if you're feeling an urgent need to change your life right now and don't have the money for the Vita Mix then you have to do what you have to do...but I will say this. I was fortunate enough to come by a Back to basics smoothie plus 600 blender via Freecycycle. It has a tamper like the Vita Mix and everything. It performed really well, and as I understand it can be found at Walmart and Target for $20 or so. It did a good job of making my marinara sauce for my zuchinni so I was pleased!

I'd rather use the VitaMix or a BlendTec and not the HealthMaster (which doesn't sound very reliable to me).

For what it's worth, I love my Health Master. Maybe it's not quite as cool as the VM but there's no way I could ever afford the VM. As long as my kids will still drink my green smoothies, it doesn't matter to me which one I have. I like to think it's more about being healthy. I also got mine for only $150 which to me, is a great price and it was worth the risk.

Hi,
The Health Master after 45 days started rusting out on the bottom of the pitcher. Of course they offered to replace it, but I figured if it did it again, then where would I be. They weren't going to extend the warranty.
I now have a Vita Mix..yes, bit the bullet to pay the price.
I'd highly suggest to everyone to not bother with the Health Master, but to save their money for the Vita Mix. Plus the Helath Master with extremely loud. I had to wear earplugs when I used it!
The Health Master comes with some recipes, but they don't tell you the proportions of foods/liquid to use.
All that being said, I have never felt healthier since the investment I have made in this product, the Vitamix.

yep, i pulled the trigger. i busted out 15.00 extra for the 3 year bumper to bumper warrenty. and i ordered the Montel Health Master 100.
i also upgraded to the pro, 1200 watts, 2 HP.

:) NO its not a VM but its mine!!!!

Kudos, Mathew! I have a Vita Mix. Have had it for years, but two years ago it suddenly quit working. It sits in a cabinet. Vita Mix would charge me MORE to send it to some independent repair shop to get it worked on, than it costs me to buy a brand new Montel Health Master. Plus, the Vita Mix people are consistently on the verge of being really rude ever since I made my initial purchase.....and I bought the top-of-the line with two extra canisters, one dry, and an extra wet for my compost. I LOVED my Vita Mix, but the company does not invite any further business with them. Wish I could find someone locally to fix the thing. And I did not abuse it either. I always treated it with the utmost care. No reason for it to just quit. And since it is beyond their 7 year warranty I am out of luck. Montel has a lifetime warranty. I am going now to look at Amazon and see what problem those guys had with Montel's. I bet I could get one that lasts and works just fine.

Do not get Montel's Healthmaster blender. The container is faulty and replacements are promised but never sent in a timely manner. I have had to get mine replaced three times and the last time they wanted me to pay for shipping. See my post about Healthmasters elsewhere on this site. I also have a Vitamix that has lasted 16 years and is still going strong. Support at Montel's group make promises on replacements but you may end up waiting months for it ( they are always back ordered and they never tell you this). The Vitamix group are wonderful, prompt and keep their word. If you can save for 200 bucks, you can save some more if you are truely determined. It will be worth it.

Wow good Question? I have had a Montel version of Health Master for 2 1/2 years. I had to replace the cap after six months of ownership. The locking mechanism was dependent on the cap locking in place. One of three plastic/rubber tabs broke and the lid would not lock securely. $15 to replace and I was back in business. Flash forward 2 years and almost daily use, and i would say I was fully satisfied with its performance. I had been watching the Vitamix GC series on QVC. I decide to upgrade to the more versatile Vitamix. Almost simultaneously the pitcher on the Health Master began to leak at the base where the blade mechanism engages the base. I call Health Master and they say $49 to replace pitcher ie no warranty at this point. I order the replacement pitcher figuring two machines would be better than one. Conclusion of story : I got my value from the Health Master. I did have to debug problems and baby the machine. I cleaned it and took care not to overload it. I read most of the cooking forums and have heard many horror stories by unsatisfied customers. If you want fool proof then buy the most expensive Vitamix available. I have both machines right now and find value in both machines.
Fid your level of comfort and buy accordingly. By the way you can buy refurbished Vitamix and Health Masters on the internet to save some dollars.
