View Full Version : How long do Chia seeds keep?

Just wondering how long they keep in the fridge? There is no expiry date on the bag I have, I think it is about a year old. Not sure if I should use them or not.

Supposedly the shelf life is a few years and refrigeration is not necessary.

Thank you, that's good to hear! They were expensive so I would hate to waste them, now I just have to remember what to do with them lol!

Simple recipe:

Chia seeds, soaked
Apple
Chop & blend apple with water. Mix in bowl with chia seed gel.

I don't know how long they keep. I had some that were about a year old so I threw them out and bought new ones. I was afraid they would go rancid.
