I am in the market for a decent food processor and spiral cutter. Which are the best choices?

Cuisinart seems to be the FP of choice. Mine is 27 years old and still going strong. Get the larger one. I also have a small, about 1 cup one for small jobs that would not even get caught in the blades of the large one.

I have 2 different spiral slicers. Please check Alissa's store - I'm not sure if she carries them or not?

I ordered the one I use the most from QVC (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K7702.desc.Fuller-Kitchen-Solutions-Manual-Vegetable-Curler-Slicer)- it's the best price I found (by far!) - it comes in at $24.45 including S&H. I use it all the time for my zucchini noodles.

I also have Fuller Brush's mandoline (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K5662.desc.Fuller-Kitchen-Solutions-VBlade-Mandoline-Slicing-Kit)from QVC - and use it a LOT as well. Good price on it too. (I know you didn't ask about that, but I can't stop myself!).

I second the recommendation of a Cuisinart Food Processor. I've had mine for years and wouldn't want to be without it.

I'll say this though - if I had to replace it, I would take a good look at Kitchen Aid's FP because it has a citrus juicing attachment that looks fantastic. It's also got the big food chute (as does Cuisinart) and that makes a big difference being able to process larger pieces of produce vs. cutting them up smaller for other models.

I got my current Cuisinart at Costco (my neighbor gave me my first Cuisinart when clearing out her garage - yay!) *Ü*

I have the same spiral slicer as DebB and I looooove it! It's like a toy.... I spiralize things just for the fun of it...yams, beets, jicama, carrot, and of course zucchini.
