I just had to share with some folks who will understand:
I just got a vita mix and I'm so freaking excited!!!!
I just made a super-fast, super-easy, super-smooth green smoothie!!
It's a 5200 and I got it for $100!!!! It even had the recipe book, dvd, and manuals all still sealed up! I am SOOOO stoked! And, my green smoothie is green now, even with the banana and strawberries in it! Clearly, my old osterizer was NOT breaking down the greens enough to release all the chlorophyll, because they all turned a brown color once the banana and strawberries went in. This one is still green!!!
I am just so hapy, and I feel like I got a great deal on it.
yea!

So-o cool, especially for only $100!!! Way to go! I'm getting a Blend-tec really soon, and I totally know what you mean by a green smoothie being really green, as I had the opportunity to use a Blend-tec while on my recent vacation. It DOES really make a difference, and I could feel my body responding to the increased nutrition too. I fell instantly in love with high-speed blending...

I would definetely buy it for 100 dollars! Right now i just bought Omega juicer, because I am planning to do some juice fasting. Have fun with your new blender!

I got it at a YARD SALE, LOL! These people had posted their yard sale on craigslist, but they're like right in between two major cities in Oregon, and had posted on the smaller one that is south of them. I always search both, just to be sure, almost every day for vita-mix and juicer. So, I saw that they had listed a vitamix in the list of stuff for the yard sale, and they had a phone number so I called, and they said they were putting $150 on it, and that it was the latest model. i couldn't go right then, had to wait for hubby to get home and talk him into it. I was hoping it wouldn't sell, and thankfully it didn't. He got home, and I checked CL one more time, and it was re-listed, this time with the price in the ad at $100. So, I talked him into it, and emailed them to let them know I'd be out in the morning.
Turns out their place is way up in the mountains, which probably discouraged most people from driving out there (city folks don't seem to like to leave the freeways, LOL!), so I totally scored!
I just watched the DVD and have been looking up youtube videos and I'm SOOOOOO stoked!
I'm going to make another post on this subject, but I'll throw it out here, too:
Do ya'll think I need a juicer in addition to the vitamix? I have absolutely no problem doing my own straining when I want juice (plus, I have a freebie juiceman jr.), it seems like it will do wheatgrass (I will test that monday when I can get some grass from the store) which was my main thing for thinking I needed a big juicer. I had thought that I would need a champion, a vita mix, and probably an omega to do everything I need (I already have a dehydrator and food processor), but now I'm thinking I'm good to go.
Opinions, please!!

What a Great Find......Congratulations. I use a Green Star for Most Greens, a Jack LaLane for Juicing and a Vita-Mix for Smoothies. I Think there is a Tool for Every Job. I would have to be in the Bush to use the Vita-Mix and then strain the Juice but I think everyone should do as they please. So don't bother anyone disagreeing with me. We all have Choices.
Someone is Always inventing something New and I Always want to try it out. My Friends call me "The Gadget Queen". I don't Care. My latest find is an Apple cutter. Its just a disk that slide down the Apple, cuts it and you can just pick a piece of Apple off. I think its RAWool, of cource a knife would do the same but I can carry this is My Purse without getting arrested:).
Enjoy your Find, May you find MANY, MANY More.......Have a RAW Day.

Congrats!!
Tip: Make sure the lid is on properly. ;) I made almond milk the other day and one side of the lid wasn't snapped in place properly. the setting was set at high & turn on the machine. and i got a surprise :eek:
YAY!! Glad you got yours - I love mine! I can't belive how amazing it is. I can use it 5 times a day with ease. Today I have made one green smoothie, one chocolate shake and strawberry ice-cream mix (not the one made with frozen fruit but one to go in an ice cream maker) so only 3 times today. Enjoy playing with it.
Spicyfull - Im also a gadget queen. I still have my pasta machines and Im trying to work out how to use them with raw food!
