Hello,

I was wondering if eating 100% or mostly raw would help aches and pains that my body has. I am healthy, exercise, but not all the way raw. I unfortunately, fell off big time and I am trying to get back on track, but I have really been feeling aches and pains back, hip etc. nothing major really, but I was wondering if anyone knows or has experienced it. Thanks :)

Yes, definitely, as your body gets the bioavailable nutrients it needs to fortify itself.

I would also suggest that you consider yoga if you haven't already as I've spoken to many a person who has fixed their back pain through yoga, raw or now.

When you changed your diet did you go to a more acidic diet ? Did you start or increase your non-vegan foods like meat ?
When I had my major "slip" last summer I had a reversal in health from feeling great to feeling lousy and one of the things that was slipping away fast was the freedom from aches & pains I felt in my body. I am just thinking that possibly you are experiencing that too ? As an experiment you might think about going all raw again just long enough to see if the aches & pains diminish. Good luck.

Eating raw took away all my aches and pains. When I would eat other, they came back. Raw takes it all away!

hey there,
Thanks for the responses and great to know. An inspiration to get back on track. EZ rider I am embrassed to tell what all bad I have eatin-just pure rotten junk that should not be going in my body. I have not eaten meat, but cheese products and other junk. I have the tools (kitchen stuff), knowledge and determination. I just need to do it and I will. Matter of fact I am going to pull out Alissa's book right now. This board is great for getting answers, knowlege, recipes, a place to vent and get support from like minded people :)

Yes, I'm counting on it. A week ago I sprained my back pretty bad laying down and picking up an 800 lb motorcycle, stupid me I thought the kickstand was down (that will never happen again) :o The bike faired alot better than me. I 've been thinking about eating totally raw for some time and thought this to be an excellent opportunity to change my lifestyle and diet. I used zero painkillers and no herbal remedies. I can say after one week eating totally raw and with help from massage, acupunture and some extra rest, I'm doing pretty well. I am 80% better and the spasms have subsided today. I'll be back on the bike for a ride in the morning:D

I am around 90% raw and all my aches and pains went away. But after making raw larabars it seems to have brought back my cravings bigtime and today my arthritis returned and my runny nose and sneezing (allergies I guess) and the past couple nights I haven't been sleeping as well as before. I doubt if it was the nuts because I have been eating nuts since I started and they never brought on cravings before so it must have been the dates.

I do seem to still have some willpower and good sense as the pint of Haagan Daz I bought the other day is still sitting unopened in the freezer and I passed up on pizza at work tonight (YIPPEE!!) which I have never ever been able to do. I also have never been able to have ice cream in the house without touching it so I guess I am still going forward on my journey and this is just a little bump in the road.

It was more about adrenaline (from the embarrassment) than muscles...........:( Someday maybe. Within a few months I will replace these extra 50 lbs I'm carrying around with some muscles:D

Greens greens greens (leafy greens). They worke wonders of taking away pains. It is all about acid / alkalin balance. Greens makes you body more alkaline and acid creates pain (among other things) so more greens.
Green smoothies, green soups, salats, green powders a.s.o.
Raw food is generaly a more alkaline diet (depending on how many nuts you eat). That is why so many had huge succes with removing aches and pains with raw food.
Good omega 3īs and MSM is also great to elevate aches and pains (together with the greens ;)).
