I have lately read how healthy yeast is and thought I should try it out.
My thoughts were that bacteria and fungus like yeast occure naturally, but in hygenic conditions we might take too little of such micro-organisms.
I just don't like the thought of eating the yeast that comes in a bag or a box or worse as pills. Does anyone have an idea where I could get unprocessed yeast.
I have seen vegan cheese recipes using nutritional yeast but this is heated and dead (the fungus can not accreat), would this also work with raw yeast (I know that the yeast would make the cheese expand)? And which kind of yeast is best?

Try kraut it's fermented and I add in probiotics to create more beneficial bacteria.

Thanks for the hint. Being from the homeland of Sauerkraut, that seems to be a good alternative to me.
Anyway, I found some fresh organic yeast, today. It seems to be very alive and has already expanded before I could put it in the fridge. The only thing that I don't like about it is, that it has been grown on cereals. I think I will try to use it for a nut cheese, anyway.
