It seems like every little paper cut or sore on my hands seems to take a LONG time to heal since going raw. I used to heal within a day or 2 and now it takes days and days for a little knife nick or a paper cut to heal....

Is that normal?? To much Vitamin K? Thanks for your help!!

your body could be catching up on more important things than minor knicks and scrapes, as before it had no time to do anything but heal small wounds and try to maintain on SAD.... or maybe you are missing/receiving too much of something. Maybe you could try tracking your food for a week in something like fitday.com and see if there's something you're getting too little or too much of (the RDA is for SAD tho, so then you have to start inquiring with long term raw foodists about numbers like that) There's a lot of people at 30bananasaday.com that you could inquire from, once you have results as a lot of them are students of nutrition. (it's a low fat raw food board)

I should have clarified- I've been Vegetarian for 15 months, vegan for a year and just started Raw in May so my body is used to being free from the sad SAD diet... I was probably 40-50% raw (if I had to guess) in the past 6 months, FWIW.

I'm healing from scars I thought would be permanent. Please be patient! :)

Just to give you some perspective Susan, I've been veggie 22 years, vegan for about 10 of those, and aiming at about 50% for the past several years, going 100% finally this past January. And I've still had many struggles physically of just not getting the awesome benefits of raw. Starting up with a lot of green smoothies and wheatgrass juice has helped quite a bit. I'm currently at a usual dose of 4 oz of wheat grass and I want to try to take it to 8-10 if I can for 3- 6 months to get out of the woods so to speak, once and for all.

The point is - we just don't know what our bodies are working on, how much work they need to do. I spent about 2 months really dragging energy wise and it was tough to just accept that my body was working on other important issues rather dropping weight quickly, and giving me fabulous glowing skin and boundless energy.

I know I still have a fairly far way to go health-wise, but I feel every day of raw is a step on a long journey I have no choice but to make. Although occasional speed bumps make the journey a little more arduous at times, I can say, that in balance, the days are getting better.

Can you please elaborate on this? I've wondered about scars - I have quite a few, and wondered if raw could help at all......

Sure! I used to punch a punching bag barehanded (I was an angry and depressed teenager), which left me with permanent red scarred knuckles. I tried every kind of lotion when I was eating SAD, but the scars remained. I can honestly admit that the scars are fading and becoming less red (with the help of abstaining from nightshades) due to eating raw and not applying any chemicals topically. It's also becoming difficult for me to find my chickenpox scars now! I used to be so insecure about them.

My advice would be don't apply anything topically, just water (i.e. showering). Continue to eat raw (but avoid nightshades for a week and see if there is a difference). Most importantly have a happy and content mindset, and be patient!
