My friend did it and used agave as it was not only cheaper, but cleaner tasting.
I don't keep maple syrup around. I got it for a ridiculously yummy recipe in Raw Food Real World a couple years ago, but I didn't feel good after I ate it (I could feel the changes in my blood sugar). So I just stick to agave when there is a recipe that needs it.
I have only done one day of the MC drink and just agave. I actually liked the thing! :)

I follow the recipe as is.....maple syrup. There is a reason why they choose that over agave & I believe its for all the nutrients

I'm on the MC now and I use maple syrup. I guess the founder chose it because mildly treated maple syrup retains a lot of minerals and vitamins that are needed for the fast.
I doubt doing a 10 day fast on an alternative won't kill ya, but anything longer then that I would considering alternating days.

What about using raw honey?
What about using raw honey?
Ive got Honey from Sams Club I don't says Raw, I never bought 100% Organic Honey to know the difference. I use honey on Peanut butter sandwichs, i put it in a pitcher of tea. I even tried it in my salad. I take a Tablespoon full before bed & through out the day.
i refuse to pay 11 dollars for a jar that may not last me a month. I use Honey as a sweetener but I want the other benefit like Energy, Fighting arthritis, Cleansing ect. I have a 80 oz bottle and it lasted me 4 weeks & I have been able to use it on everything I need to sweeten

I used Agave once in a MC and my knees ached so badly after a couple of days. So, I'm back to the maple syrup and feel great.
