I am back to juicing regularly, and have been using organic carrots in 2# bags, they are $1.49 a pound. I just bought a 15# bag of organic "juicing carrots) from Wild Oats. Holy Moses! These things are HUGE compared to the smaller bags.
Do they just separate the huge carrots at harvest and package them as juicers, since they are to big for everyday use? Or are they grown differently?
Are there more nutrients by volume in the smaller ones, seem like their would be, intuitively. I am willing to pay a bit more for higher quality if necessary. I've just always felt (especially in the old world of pesticide-laden veggies) that things that seem to grow bigger are less full of the good stuff.
Thoughts?
