Hello all,

I'm a vegan college student transitioning to raw. I've been vegetarian for 5 years, vegan for 3, and have been aware of raw foodism for a while but feel that I need to just bite the bullet and do it already. My school's mealplan/housing setup makes it really difficult to have a social life if you're not on the mealplan and we're not located in an urban area so I've decided to stay on the mealplan for my final year there. That means, though, that I'll be incurring all kinds of extra costs. So if anyone has any tips for eating raw in college on a limited budget, I would seriously appreciate that.

I have a Magic Bullet blender in my dorm room (and may purchase a larger blender before the fall) and our dining hall has things like baby spinach, carrots, peppers, flaxmeal, sunflower seeds, and raisins. Any ideas for raw meals there? Do you think that bringing my Magic Bullet into this dining hall (it's pretty large and looks like a ski lodge) would be too obnoxious?

Looking forward to meeting you:-)
Kaitlin
