So my wheat grass juicer seems to be eroding itself!
Yesterday morning when I took it apart, there were metal shavings in the pulp part.
I scrubbed it out really well, oiled it up with olive oil, scrubbed it again this morning, and it seemed ok. Nothing in the pulp after juicing.
I decided to up the ante, and add in a pm shot of wheat grass - again with the metal shavings in the pulp!!!
I have a wheeteena red label - and to my surprise, I apparently paid quite a bit of money for it. They are retailing at about 380+ right now - I got this about 7-8 year ago, but have rarely used it. Maybe I'd go on a 1-3 month wheat grass kick every other year.
It's one of those cast iron/tin dipped things for the parts that touch the wheat grass.
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo to replace these parts - price is $121, plus whatever - tax, shipping, seems like only the company selling replacements is the manufacturer. Seems like about 150 or more is about what is will cost - cast iron is heavy.
So I'm thinking this pooped out with fairly light wear - and taking care of these parts is labor intensive due to the cast iron - maybe I wasn't careful enough?
Overall - I guess I'd prefer to get a better juicer, but I didn't realize the one I had was already in the better category - and the best category are VERY pricey.
Wondering if this one would be more efficient/longer lasting??

Or should I just get the replacements for now? They should last a year or so and I've been super wanting a vitamix and dehydrator.
But I don't want metal in my juice either!
