Every culture in every continent in every city has that common staple in their cupboard. Adobo, soy sauce, watever.
What about you guys @ the rawfoodtalk? What are those special foods that you never leave home without? That one seasoning or syrup that is like a part of your soul?
Monday is shopping day for the new transition. In lieu of a slim wallet I gotta make my $$$'s count.

As far as spices go, I use a lot of chili powder and cumin. Before going raw I used a lot of turmeric, particularly in African cuisine, however, I haven't really figured out how to convert my favorite African recipes yet so my turmeric sits untouched for now.
I also keep a lot of fresh basil around because I like tomato, avocado and basil salad or tomato, mushroom and basil salad.
I also LOVE fresh vanilla beans too but wouldn't dare buying them locally. Online is always cheaper, it seems.
Besides salt and pepper, that's about it.

Bariani Olive Oil, cayenne pepper, Sun Warrior Protein Powder, Celtic Sea Salt
Sea salt, black pepper, paprika, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, agave nectar, vanilla bean, almonds, cashews.
That + lots of fresh stuff is what I seem to use to throw together a nice, quick recipe. I buy ALL of those things in bulk to keep it cheap and high quality. :)

Bragg's Liquid Amino's - I adore this wondrous "food" and look at it with rose-tinted glasses, I admit...
Kombucha - Now that God has blessed me richly with a wonderful source of income, I have been treating myself regularly to SUNFLOWER MARKET, discounted Kombucha. I reuse the glass bottles for my GS, and I love the appetite-curbing, satisfying, bubbly tea.
Tomatoes - I never leave home without them. ;)
Raw Cashews - Such wonderful soups can be made with a handful of sweet, rich cashews! I love them.
Larabars - Because I am an on-the-go professional, RAW BARS are a staple mid-day hunger-buster... nutritious, flavorful, and fun. I love them, too. ;)
