View Full Version : We have been cheated!!!
I love Cherry Limeades. You know. The old SAD versoins. Loads of sugar and artificial flavors and if lucky a real slice of lime. Oh yummy.
Well last night, I found the first bag of cherries for the season. I thought, I think I'll find a lime and make my own cherrie limeade. So, this morning, I got up [It was really noon.] and started removing pits from my cherries. There is just something so satisfying about preparing food from scratch.
2 cups cherries
1/4 pineapple chunks
1 whole lime peeled.
Put it all in the blender and enjoy.
Wow, what I've been missing all these years!!!

great idea. I want to show my mom one of those, she's addicted to Sonic's Cherry Limeade in the summer.
Alas in canada they do not sell frozen cherries, so whenever i go to texas i buy lots of frozen cherries and pineapple and make smoothies every day with them
Thankyou Myca - This sure looks delicous!
Is that 1/4 of a pineapple? Thanks ~ *Ü*

Hehe, you are slow today CG! ;)
She means the fact that the natural version is so much yummier than the yuck-packed factory version.
Sounds good, I'll give it a go.... in about 5 months time when it's stops being the dead of winter here. :(
ALTHOUGH, just realised I have some cherries frozen in the freezer from the cherry farm we visited! YAY!

Yes. 1/4 of a pineapple. You can adjust it to your taste. I like sweet things.

How long did it take you to pit the cherries? I'm sure it was worth it, I'm just curious. :)
We've got 2 of these cherry pitters (http://www.amazon.com/Norpro-Deluxe-Cherry-Stoner-Pitter/dp/B00005EBH0). We bought them locally at a farm supply store. We freeze a LOT of sweet cherries and this pitter is worth its weight in gold when you're doing a lot!
That's a good price - I believe we paid just under $20 for ours (ofcourse you'd have to add in S&H). *Ü*
