Shaving / Itching like crazy

any ideas to help stop the itch after i shave? it starts like 2 days after i shave on my legs etc. i am like grinding my nails into my skin because it itches so bad!

i have sensitive skin, hair grows back thick. and i can't shave daily or else i get rashes. only started itching like this the past 5 years... never before.. same with getting rashes. i don't know why now and not then.

i won't wax and nair seems to prevent that itch, but i'd rather not use it. and only in winter time and if single do i not shave. ;)

i would appreciate any tips.

oh.. forgot to mention... i just use water and a razor. it's very rare i use soap or shaving cream... it's been a very long time. could this be it?

absolutely that is it. You must use a lubricant of some sort or it will itch like crazy. For me anyway. Soap would be too drying. I use hubbies shaving cream.

alright thanks snoops! i'll buy some and try it out. it wasn't a problem just using water for awhile then things changed and also hair thicker than then. i hope this fixes it. ;)

when was the last time you changed the blades on your razor or bought a new one?

Bingo! Gotta use something as a lubricant.

I quit shaving and got one of those thingies that buffs the hair away. Might not work for everyone, but it works for me.

I don't know. I don't watch the shopping channel. I bought it at the drugstore.

i only use them 1-3 times (disposables). i am thinking about getting an eletric razor.

*i'm on my 3rd day of itch! if that shaving cream doesn't work... i'm trying something else.
