I just had a (quite small) pineapple, and it tasted sweet and was very juicy, in fact one of the sweetest pineapples i've had. But it was still a bit green on the outside.

Have never had any kind of allergic reaction to pineapple, or any other fruit for that matter, but i suddenly remembered Susan123's post about her tounge swelling and hands becoming red after eating an unripe pineapple.

Do i have anything to worry about? as i said, it tasted sweet and lovely, but it wasn't entirely yellow/brown. Well, the bottom part was, but not the upper..

I don't want a big swollen tounge!

I do not think that the colour indicates ripeness. Pull the leaves and if they come out easily then it is ripe regardless of the colour.
I would think that yours was OK.

Thanks, it's been over an hour since i had it and nothing's happened yet, but i'm gonna go to the pharmacy and get some antihistamines just in case anything bad happens.

Peace

My husband used to work in a farmers' market in Brazil and learned all sorts of useful stuff that he's passed along to me. When he picks out a pineapple, it is mostly yellow with NO brown spots and only a touch of green at most. He also brings it up to his nose and gives it a sniff to make sure it smells nice and sweet. It's pretty cute. He does that to canteloupes too.

He also says to ALWAYS rinse your mouth out with water after eating a pineapple. He's my resident fruit expert. :D

About a Month ago I found Pineapple 2/$3-, I bought 4. I left them lying on the Floor for a couple of weeks. I took the top off one and sat it in the Fridge in a Bowl, upside down, as I have read here. I finally ate the other 3 and used them in Smoothies thus leaving the last one in the Fridge for 2 weeks, upside down. Well I ate it this Morning and the Core was even as soft as the rest of the Fruit.

Today is the last day of a Sale for 98 cents a piece. So off to the Market I go today.

Hmmmm did you know you can actually create sickness? Thinking about it and leaning into it, your mind focusing on it, the body believes and so gets sick.

Focus:wellness. Mission: vibrant health. Goals: No doctors, medicines, ailments, aches, pains, health worries . (have reached all these).

What you focus on grows. When you water it, it becomes.
