Hi all,

Can Alissa's book Living On Live Food only be purchased from her website? I've called several bookstores and searched several online bookstores and can't find it anywhere. I was hoping to be able to go buy it tomorrow or Friday so I didn't have to wait for it to be shipped. I'm kind of anxious to get started..........okay, okay..........I'm impatient! :D

Blessings,
~Lisa~

If there's a raw restaurant or health food store in your area, they may have it. Otherwise, yeah, gots to order it.

I didn't want to wait for it be come by mail, either (and I live just miles from Alissa!), so I found it at a local raw food-oriented health store. But, I live in the greater Los Angeles area where there are many raw & living resources. It depends on where you live. Perhaps try calling health food stores that carry books? Or ... write Alissa an email and ask her where in your area you might be able to purchase one. She does ship really fast, though!

She does ship fast, but I believe she is now taking back orders. You might check at rawfamily.com I noticed they had it for sale on their website.

Bummer.........I wanted to get started right away and it looks like I may have to wait 3 weeks now. I'm checking with the Raw Family site, but if they have it, it'll be a miracle! LOL I have called every book store, health store, everything and no dice. :(

Why do you feel you have to wait? You CAN get started immediately. There are loads of recipes here and on the net. Google "raw food recipes". As a matter of fact, you don't even need recipes. Just get some good fruits and veggies and chow down! This is the BEST time of year to get started. :)

Well, that sounds simple enough. I have no clue what I'm doing though and since it will be such a huge lifestyle change for me, I was thinking I should read up on it first, but yes, I guess I could get started.

I know about having to wait for the book -- I already had several recipe books but really wanted Alissa's! Expected it for Christmas - but didn't get it - I was bummed. Didn't get it for another few weeks ... and it was well worth waiting for!

But, as Revvell said .. just go ahead and start. There are so many fresh fruits and veges around this time of year. If you want some starer recipes, there are a lot posted here.

If you are looking for something specific -- just post the question and no doubt you'll get heaps of answers -- this is a Great board.

I got mine on ebay - check and see if there's one there!
I would also start with Raw Vegan Mom's journal for ideas!

Just an FYI for anyone else looking for the book. The folks at rawfamily.com DO still have Alissa's book in stock. Thank you Mommax4 for giving me that link! :)

*Somewhere in Florida a little RAW Brownie dances gleefully around the living room--as she silently thanks the Father that the blinds are drawn shut*

Happy, happy, joy, joy. One stop shopping until I can buy Alissa's book. :)
