Hi there! I have been reading about raw for almost a year and tried a lot of recipes. In the beginning the first ones I tried did not taste very good at all and it was very discouraging. However, I do love eating fruits and vegetables and knew the amazing health that awaited me (although I already thought I was a healthy person -I still can't believe how far I have come on raw food!). So, I kept reading on the net, flipping through recipe books and watching raw food prep videos (which helped SOOOOO much!). I thought that I was having a hard time because the recipes tasted funny, or because it is hard to get good produce in the winter here (which it is but that wasn't what was really holding me back). Then, the more educated I got the more motivated and determined I became....and along came the green smoothie! It made me feel so amazing I wanted to be raw more than ever before! I tried new recipes that turned out great! Since then I can't get enough about learning to prepare raw food (which was quite a turn in learning as I used to be this way about cooked food). I have a very supportive family although they don't eat like I do. I am pretty close to 100% raw....I have been going easy on myself for the odd indulgence. I have found that it is easy to drop things little by little and as you find wonderful raw recipes to replace them and eventually you don't even miss them anymore! WHEW! I could talk forever (yes, I am one of those people LOL). Anyways, I wanted to say "Hi!" and that this is he most supportive forum I have found yet and I can't wait to read more posts!
