View Full Version : Is this my perfect raw diet? Hopefully... Is this an epiphany? Hopefully...

I've been very resistant to eating anything other than fruit in the mornings. Vibrationally, I have felt that it's best to eat fruit in the AM, salads in the afternoon, and heavier raw foods in the evening if required. This is kind of in-line with Gabriel Cousen's book 'The Rainbow Diet', which talks about eating in order of the chakras...ie red, orange and yellow fruits for breakfast...a predominantly green salad for lunch...etc etc.

I've probably tried every version of the raw diet going. I read about everyone's enthusiasm for green smoothies though. Of course I have had them, but never as a part of my daily routine.

Most mornings lately I've eaten just 1 piece of fruit for breakfast...and then haven't eaten again until 12pm or 1pm...hardly optimal. No wonder I lose weight fast. The less I eat, the less energy and motivation I have to chop up a salad and then spend the next half hour to an hour chomping my way through it. I want optimal nutrition, but I also want a sense of joy and ease.

I was throwing around the idea of planning my meals in an earlier post. To me that just seems wrong...writing down what I eat the night before, and then eating two celery sticks at 3pm...or something. But it seemed the only solution, because I seem to lose weight fast if I just try to follow my intuition.

My question regarding green smoothies is this though? If we shouldn't mix water with our meals to prevent diluting digestive juices, why is it okay to put water in a green smoothie? I'd prefer to use just fruits as a base, but it really depends on what fruits I use. I want to use a variety of fruit and green leaves in my smoothies. So I can easily start a smoothie off if I squeeze orange juice into it as a base, but what about if I was using say pineapple chunks, kiwi fruit and banana or instance? Would it be better to use a whole fruit eg orange juice to start the blending process off every day, or is using water okay?

So here is my new raw diet...(if I don't have any structure...I will end up eating three pieces of fruit a day and then nuts/Lara Bars...)

Breakfast - Green smoothie (nothing frozen)
12pm - 5pm - Sweet fruit (eat intuitively) (nothing frozen)
5pm - 9pm - Salad, All Acceptable Raw Food (eat intuitively)

I like the idea of a big part of my day being sweet fruit. It has a certain vibration...it's hard to explain. Also I like the simplicity of sweet fruit. I can eat whole fruit, make a fruit salad, buy a juice, may a fruit smoothie if I'm home...it's very easy. Whenever I try to eat heavier foods for lunch (eg nuts ect...I feel my vibration/energy levels drop). I feel that a green smoothie for breakfast will ground me and give me a good start to the day. I don't eat greens every day, but know how important they are, so this way I make sure I am having them every day.

Another reason I've resisted green smoothies is that when I travel, I can't imagine lugging a blender around. I do think there are travel blenders which are smaller though...I'll have to research this. I presume they are battery operated... I don't know what I will do at festivals if I can't find a battery operated travel blender. I suppose if I don't have a blender I'll make a fruit salad with green leaves on top for breakfast. As long as I have green smoothies most mornings, I'll reap the benefits... And occasionally when I am in more of a cleansing mode, I may choose to have a juice or just water for breakfast.

Greens are ALWAYS Good anytime you choose to eat them. There are also Green Powers and Tablets you can take when you are away from Home if you so choose.

Adding water to the fruit in a green smoothie helps to keep it from oxidising.

Is this my perfect raw diet?

No.

Is this an epiphany?

Nope.

Well that idea lasted for five minutes...

Green smoothies in the morning do not resonate with me. I only feel that rainbow-energy if I have fruit in the morning. Plus, (even though I tried to 'chew' it) it felt like too much of a mixture first thing...

Oh, well...back to planning my meals the night before...

I have a Kenwood Smoothie 2 Go and have been taking it with me when I go away for the weekends. I'm fully intending on taking it with me when I go on holiday.
