Processed Starches is a food group that is not RAW.

However, i am not quite sure why they are so damaging to the body and health as i learned about raw food diet.

Can someone enlighten me on this ?

As this food group also includes
a bowl of brown rice/ wild rice,
cooked bean soup,
whole wheat pasta,
baked potatoes / baked sweet potatoes,
wholemeal bread, museli bread, rye bread, etc

Dr. Emmet Densmore published a book in 1892 called "The Natural Food of Man," which goes into this in great detail. He says that grains and starches contain too much "earthy matter" that puts an undue and unnatural strain upon the intestines. In other words, they are indigestible. By "earthy matter" he meant calcareous earth, phosphates and sulfates and carbonates of lime, potash, magnesia, all of which cause what he called "ossification"—hardening of the arteries. He included potatoes, bread, rice, cereals, pulses, etc. His arguments make good sense. He did not know about acrylimides, another good reason not to eat starches.

You said it ALL.......Process starches is a food group that is NOT RAW.

but is WILD rice not in this group of starches if eaten soaked only, not cooked?

I hate to say this, but all wild rice is steamed and then dried. So soaked wild rice = not raw.

Of all foods, cooked starches make me feel the worst.

Dr. Densmore said that starchy grains are not to be eaten raw because they are enclosed in cells of cellulose which are impervious to the action of ptyalin in the mouth and to the digestive juices in the intestines. "Whereas cooking cereals bursts the sacs containing the granules, thereby permitting the digestive juices to reach and act upon the starch."

But sprouting also bursts the sacs.
