I'm curious if anyone who's done a water fast and had migraines, tried a juice fast with success? I've done a little "experimenting" and noticed that on the days I do not eat and simply drink water, those are the days I get raging migraines. I got one on Saturday when I was out with 6 of my kids - it was so bad I couldn't even see to drive and had to finally eat something. 20 minutes after eating, I was fine....shaky but no headache and my vision came back (it goes out in "splotches", the only way I can describe the loss is that things look as though they are in a Picasso painting - broken up and disjointed and pieces just missing) - so I've concluded that I have to have something in my diet that will keep my blood sugar even and am thinking that juices should do this. Anyone ever experience something similar that can give me some pointers? I can't live with those headaches, it's debilitating.

I have never tried a true water or juice fast. Your symptons sound to me like a migraine in the eye. I used to get this and this is what my eye specialist told me it was. It has gotten better by just eating raw.

Hi!

These migraines are detox symptoms. Detox is much more violent and quicker with water fast, whereas it's longer but more supportable with juice fast.
See what is the best for you, depending on the level of toxicity of your body.
To normal SAD eaters, it's advised to eat a least one week vegan before doing a fast in order to avoid too violent detox symptoms.
I did a water fast this week end, (began Friday morning, ended Monday morning), I had been eating raw for 6 weeks before, and I got headaches and was light-headed the two first days.
Your personal experience will certainly differ. Fasting experience is completely personal and ranges widely from one to another.

I did my own little experiment. I tied to juice fast without getting migraine. It was all fine, but in the early evening I started feeling the headache comming, so I ate a salad. It stopped. The next day I continued with juices(mostly veggie-greens and some grapefruit) and presto- no headaches. Today is my third day of this experiment- I will let you know how it goes. Juice fast is definetely gentler. And no hunger.
