I colour treat my hair so I am looking for something "Blonde safe".
All my life I have had thick, poofy hair. It's the worst when it air dries after being washed. When my hair is damp is the only time its gorgeous, silky straight and STUNNING. (I have a love fetish with my damp locks) LOL.
I heard chemical relaxers for coarse hair damage the hair really bad, and I am looking for a similar result. Has anyone here been successful with a home made recipe using basic fridge or pantry ingredients to relax hair making it smooth and silky? I do not have "natural" mayo at home.. I have seen this listed in many recipes. Thank you.

I found this thread on another site: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/hair_conditioners.html

Some of the one's here are not vegan friendly but you may want to have a look:

And this one here recommends raw coconut oil:

My texture has gotten better with using very natural products & condition-washing. I think raw has helped too. More details:

The supplement N-Acetyl Cysteine (internally) is also known to help relax hair.

Really? Awesome. In all my years selling supplements, I never heard that.
Do you have a reference for that? I think I will check Balch and Linda Page when I can to see if there is any reference to that.
I know it is good for your hair generally as it is a major constituent of hair, and can be taken to prevent pigment loss in hair, but I hadn't ever heard about the hair relaxing part.
(By the way, I don't ask for a reference because I doubt you. I believe you and want to learn more! ;) )
