Hello! :D My name is Sachiko.

I found out about the raw food diet when I was craving a smoothie one day, and started looking up recipes. I then stumbled upon green smoothies, got intrigued, kept reading and found out about the raw food diet!

I didn't jump into it right away - I'm still only about 75% raw. I'm finding it difficult because I don't have / cannot afford a dehydrator, juicer, etc., so I'm mostly limited to raw fruits and vegetables and the occasional Larabar. :p Because of that, it's still really hard! There are a few recipes I've made, but .. my friend Hachi and I might chip in on a dehydrator coming up, so we can try to make some bread and the like.

Nice to meet you! I can't wait to start exploring the forum! :)

Nice to meet you Sachiko. You are doing fine. Simple raw is good too. Time will come when you can get appliances. Sometimes I do not even use mine...well my blender every day for smoothie!!

Welcome and happy raw life to you!!

Hi and welcome to the board. I have all the gizmo's and do not even use them anymore. I used the dehydrator religiously for the first month. Then my body did not want all the complex things (though they are fun to make). Now it is just simple fruits and veg.

Hello hyde :)

I have been raw for over two years and the only equipment I now use is my blender and coffee grinder. I have a food processor, juicer and dehydrator... They are just sitting around gathering dust now!

I use my coffee grinder for so much these days. Grinding seeds to make truffles, grinding nuts for creams and sauces, mixing together herbs and oil for marinades.
My blender is used for smoothies, chopping up vegetables and making masses of avocado chocolate mousse.

Enjoy the raw journey.

I'm new to this diet as well and have found that my local health food store actually carries raw crackers which i like to use for the mock tuna and the mock salmon pate, I've also found that tomatoes are a good sustitute for crackers. Just hollow them out and voila! a mini bowl. I'm eager to try making burgers and buns, but found that i get along just fine without them. I only own a blender... and a serious set of knives. I'd like a juicer and a food processor, but again, am getting along fairly fine without them. Best of luck to you :)

hey! welcome! i just started today and I made my first green smoothie. It looked gross however it was a lot better than i thought. I think adding the apple in it really helped. However i know its not something i will crave and that worries me a bit but ENJOY THIS JOURNEY!!!

You might as you go on! Recently I've wanted green smoothies more and more. I didn't think I'd like them as much as I did at first either! Good luck!!
