hi,
I'm 46 years old. I lost about 45 pounds on raw, twice. Both times I have regained it. Right now I've got the weight on, and I'm very uncomfortable with it. I'm not blaming raw. I think part of the issue was going into menopause and also not exercising regularly enough. So I have a goal of losing this weight within a year. Before menopause, I could literally lose that weight in 4 months on raw, but not now. I don't think I'm going to be all raw. I think being all raw is *part* of the problem in that if you indulge in cooked food, you do gain weight easily, from my own experience. So I'm going to shoot for about 75% raw and regular exercise. I don't want to yo-yo anymore. I know it's not healthy.
One other issue I'm dealing with since menopause is WRINKLES. The thing about gaining weight is it plumps out the wrinkles. When I get thin again, I know I will see them again because I did the last time I was thin and I was very distressed about it. Does anyone have any personal experience with improving wrinkles, not something you've heard about, but something that actually helped you?

When you re-gained the weight were you still raw or were you eating more cooked foods ?

I was eating about 75% raw when I gained the weight back which is why I plan on losing weight at 75% raw. I think it will be more permanent weight loss. With socializing and eating out, I think I fall back to about 75 percent. I was completely raw when I lost the weight.

It sounds like the yo-yo weight may be a result of going from 100% raw to 75% raw as a cycle. Maybe try a steady 85% or 90% raw and see if the weight stabilizes. Good luck.

Everything that worked for me before started to change in my 40's.New rules!I find I HAVE to exercise regularly to keep my weight consistent. My lovely metabolism really did slow down and weight gains did become easier and harder to take off...I say keep exercising and all will fall into place.

Good luck:)

I use sunscreen.. it may not take wrinkles away but will help keep them from getting worse.. also moisturize your skin which will plump it up. They say when you eat chocolate and things rich in those oxidants it helps promote blood flow to the surface of the skin giving you a glow, making your skin look more supple and young.

I love my wrinkles, and every gray hair I find on my head, and age spots, and turning into my mother. I've earned it all along with every day, month, and year of my life! If you don't like your wrinkles, get rid of your mirror.
If you are using it to lose weight, eating raw is no different from any other "diet": once you go back to eating the way you did before losing the weight, it all comes back and then some!

I don't love my wrinkles or my gray. Luckily henna covers the gray.
I didn't do raw only for the weight loss. I did it primarily for health.
